Anyone else noticing how many mass arrests & roundups are happening
lately?

All of a sudden, hundreds and thousands of "illegals" are rounded up in Federally coordinated multi state operations.

Then this past Thursday, hundreds of "sex offenders" and "suspects" are nabbed in many states:

Roundup snares fugitives, suspects, unregistered sex offenders

<snip>
Last week, 27 states, mostly west of the Mississippi River, participated in Operation FALCON II, a concerted roundup of fugitives ordered by U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales that focused special attention on suspects wanted for sex crimes and crimes committed against women, children and vulnerable adults.

Other priority targets included people wanted on warrants involving homicides, robberies, assaults, firearm violations and major drug crimes. In a news conference this morning, Gonzales announced that nationwide, Operation FALCON II had netted 9,037 suspects, including more than 1,100 people wanted in sex crimes. Gonzales' announcement was timed to coincide with this week's annual National Crime Victims' Rights Week.

In Western Washington, officers under Lanier's command arrested 171 people, including 35 unregistered sex offenders. Sixteen of the fugitives were found hiding in 12 states, Lanier said.

Results of the local FALCON operation were announced this afternoon at a news conference at the federal courthouse in Seattle. FALCON is an acronym for Federal and Local Cops Organized Nationally.

Maybe this is just an election year push to look tough on crime - but I keep hearing:

First they came for the Jews... and I wonder.

FU GWB for creating an environment where I could even think this could happen in America! I keep hoping for the day they throw you and your cronies out of office for disgracing our country and your oath. I keep waiting for them to prosecute you for every crime committed. I keep waiting for a real leader to restore the honor and integrity of the office that your crooked bunch have pissed all over.

Associated Press

Immigration authorities arrested 66 people in Minnesota as part of a Midwest sweep of illegal immigrant fugitives, the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency said Friday.
The 10-day operation earlier this month led to the arrests of 106 illegal immigrant fugitives and 19 others who were violating their immigration status, the agency said. The fugitives are foreign nationals who had been ordered to leave the country by a judge.

The fugitives were from 28 countries, according to the ICE.

66 Illegal Aliens Caught Working On Orlando Building
http://www.wftv.com/news/4421667/detail.html

ORLANDO, Fla. -- More than 60 illegal aliens were handcuffed and loaded onto buses Wednesday morning. Some cooperated, while others had to be hunted down, and you've been paying for them to work.

The men are led away after the agents raided the downtown Orlando building.
The sting went down at the new federal courthouse building being built in downtown Orlando. Federal agents say the raid took weeks of planning, but they managed to get in and out of the construction site within two hours. The legal workers were back on the job Wednesday afternoon, but one-third to one-half of their workforce is gone.

Wednesday morning, with federal agents overhead and Orlando police in a perimeter on the ground, more than 60 officers swarmed the construction site, searching for illegal workers.

15. We need to loudly ask - Why wasn't this done until 5 years after 9/11
That's always been their cornerstone, the Shrub is keeping us safe.

Well, if we keep asking why they didn't do it before now - maybe it would slow them down so that the general public starts paying attention to WHO is actually getting picked up.

I mean, all 66 of those illegals could have been backpack suicide bombers. If Homeland Security and the (mis)Administration was really keeping us safe, why have they only started these roundups now - why not December 2001? Keep pointing out the failures that they try to use as publicity benefits.

14. Yes, there are.
http://www.cnn.com/2006/LAW/04/20/immigration.raids/index.html

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The Bush administration unveiled Thursday what it said is a new strategy aimed at companies employing illegal immigrants, illustrating it with a crackdown on the German-based firm IFCO Systems.

Law enforcement officials will "use all the tools we have, whether it be criminal enforcement or immigration laws to break the back" of businesses that exploit undocumented immigrants, said Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff at a news conference.

Yes, they are arresting lots of folks, am waiting until they arrest school teachers next for truancy violations when the kids pour out of school with the Principals and teachers marching with them.
