Poll question: Can the citizens of the United States stomach another impeachment? |
|
Edited on Sat Apr-29-06 05:22 PM by zulchzulu
It's been said by members of the mainstream media that Americans just couldn't stomach the idea of impeachment again, even if it was warranted and needed. It's like we are children that should be guarded against Uncle Pervert when he comes over for Thanksgiving dinner.
What do you think the excuses would be?

4. We need to impeach to set an example for future generations |
|
We need to impeach so our outrage will be recorded in history.
The truth is, Americans love scandal. The MSM will thrive on it. The repugs already destroyed the office with their Clinton witch hunt, so worrying about the dignity of the office is a moot point.

5. I think Dems should turn over the investigation to Patrick Fitzgerald |
|
and then go about the people's business. America want normalcy AND a reckoning.
Rather than playing leaks 24-7 LIKE THEY DID TO CLINTON, let Fitz do the dirty work of excavating the FACTS and then try the mo-fos. And then turn the bastards over to the International Court for prosecution.

10. "Can the citizens of the United States stomach another impeachment?" |
|
Yes, they can. And without the media's fucking interference in governance, it would already be the topic du jour ... with a growing chorus of supporters.

11. I don't think anybody wants it for sport. Liberals and progressive |
|
are calling for it because the office of the presidency has been besmirched.
We still respect the office, but we are distrustful of the people inhabiting it right now.
Even a few lizard-brained Republicans realize that Bush has completely stunk up the place, and he either needs to make sweeping, dramatic changes (unlikely), or his party gets thrown out of the House of Representatives in November and the votes to pass articles of impeachment will be a reality.
I think your poll hit on a lot of very pertient questions. Tip of the hat on this one, zulchzulu.

14. Impeachment would accomplish very little. |
|
Would is stop military action against Iran? Nope. It would delay it by several months at most, but not stop it.

16. I happen to think that the MAIN reason the RW impeached Clinton was |
|
to give the nation IMPEACHMENT FATIGUE, so they could have free rein to do whatever they damn well pleased once they stole the 2000 election and put their man in. It's a variation of the projection they are so good at. If they yell and scream how bad the Dems and Clinton are, then it makes us seem petty, vindictive, and spiteful if we subsequently put up a fuss over Bush and the RW.
I say too bad. NEVER shy away from a righteous inpeachment. NEVER.
