The true cost of oil is a good deal MORE than $3.00/ gallon.


And who wants to try to put a value on the 2,400 lives lost in Iraq? IF you wanted to look at it in just economic terms, and figured these guys had, on average, 30 yrs of productive life ahead of them and you used say $55,000 per yr (I think that's close to the median income for the US) the econmomic costs have been about $4 Billion ($132 Million for each of the next 30 years).

All part of the "externalized costs" of gas.
