New Iraqi soldiers tear off their uniforms embarrassing the US.
Edited on Mon May-01-06 02:10 PM by partylessinOhio
Did anyone else see the report of the induction ceremony for new Iraqi soldiers dressed in camouflage uniforms? As soon as they were told they were being sent to a most dangerous area, they immediately began ripping off their uniforms stripping bare to their waists. Some then even started ripping off their pants too. The commentator said it was an embarrassment to the United States. Below is the only print media I could find on this story which tries to put a different slant on the uprising. The discord lasted more than a few minutes and involved quite a large number of soldiers. Who could blame these soldiers for not wanting to die needlessly as our own troops are doing?

Iraqi troops ready for duty: US military advisers

2 hours, 42 minutes ago

New Iraqi soldiers have no problem going anywhere to fight insurgents, despite a rowdy near-mutiny by Iraqi Army recruits angry at being posted away from home, U.S. military advisers said on Monday.

Hundreds of Sunni recruits who were told they were to deploy away from their hometowns reacted by tearing off their uniforms and yelling on Sunday at an event intended to showcase efforts to build an army embracing all ethnic and religious groups. ...

Officers and police struggled for several minutes to restore order when the protest erupted on Sunday, minutes after a ceremony marking the end of basic training at Habbaniya base near Falluja, a mainly Sunni Arab area west of Baghdad.

The soldiers said they had been promised they would not have to leave their home towns, where most support families. "Our hometown needs us more than Iraq does," said one soldier, Ammar Ahmed. ...

Here is a photo before they tore off their uniforms, cannot find photo of the uprising.

3. Condi said they were
only mad and tore off their uniforms because they didn't get
'Gucci' style outfits like all the rest of them did!
Her fashion adviser is taking care of it as we speak! :+

4. Gee, I can't understand why Iraqis don't want to
die defending the puppet government we installed in order to steal their resources.

5. It was a large ceremony. Now I found the number of the solders: 973
I have seen the video now twice and it was quite embarrassing. I found a few more photos below. This was a photo op, witness the marine photographer, that unexpectedly turned ugly. I'm sure the video will be pulled soon if not already.

An U.S. marine photographs Iraqi soldiers from the first entirely Sunni basic training class during their graduation ceremony in Habaniyah, 80 kilometers (50 miles) west of Baghdad, Sunday, April 30, 2006. 973 Iraqi Sunnis graduated from the Habaniyah Regional Training Center after attending a five-week military basic training and the Sunni Outreach program.

6. You have to love that last shot!
See? We put Iraqis in pyramids all the time! Sometimes they're naked prisoners, sometimes they're uniformed stormtroopers to be. Don't be so upset about the Abu Ghraib stuff. We just can't help ourselves -- those darned Iraqis are just so, so, I dunno what the word is, pyramidable?

I couldn't stop myself from laughing, even though its not funny that; U.S. soliders are dying for them and they don't want to go to the most dangerous places themselves. They looked like a bunch of little children tearing off their uniforms ,huffing and puffing and throwing things. So I guess that means they are ready as bush has been promising for the past 3 years.
