1. Hispanics HAVE NO MOMENTUM IF THEY DON'T GET .......
....OUT AND VOTE.

They not only need to register, which is going on, but they have GOT to get out and VOTE. And in LARGE numbers!!

Texas is now a majority, minority State. There are more "minorities" than whites here now. And YET....we are a RED STATE???

All minorities, African-Americans, Hispanics, Democrats, in Texas have GOT to come together and take our State AND our Country back to the days when the people WERE the government!

3. Oh, Good
I might have to move to Texas in the future, & I wasn't looking forward to living in a red state. I'm glad to know it is changing, but you are right--they need to get out & vote in bigger numbers. It would be cool if Texas went blue!

4. AHHHH....the good ole days of blue.
They seem so distant now. But it wasn't all that long ago when Dems held EVERY Statewide office in Texas!

5. Oh yes. I remember the good old days of racist Dixiecrats. They all
felt their hatred was more tolerated in the Republican party!
I am a transplanted native Texan and have never forgotten the days after Brown V. Board of Education.

6. I am 51...you are referring back well before I was...
...I was thinking Gov. White, Gov. Richards, and the like.....the dixiecrats were a different breed, but had more roots in the deep south than Texas, although there were a few here too.

And THAT wasn't BLUE...that was RED.....at least!

7. Well, it's a reminder that we aren't the oldest ones here....
I'm older than you, but I also realize the dixiecrats are ancient history.

LBJ knew that pushing Civil Rights legislation would lose the South for the Democrats for some time. I think that time may have passed.

9. Most all the Hispanics in West Texas that work for the Oil Companies
vote Republican and drive SUVs with magnetic stickers.
