1. Hispanics HAVE NO MOMENTUM IF THEY DON'T GET ....... |
|
....OUT AND VOTE.
They not only need to register, which is going on, but they have GOT to get out and VOTE. And in LARGE numbers!!
Texas is now a majority, minority State. There are more "minorities" than whites here now. And YET....we are a RED STATE???
All minorities, African-Americans, Hispanics, Democrats, in Texas have GOT to come together and take our State AND our Country back to the days when the people WERE the government!

I might have to move to Texas in the future, & I wasn't looking forward to living in a red state. I'm glad to know it is changing, but you are right--they need to get out & vote in bigger numbers. It would be cool if Texas went blue!

4. AHHHH....the good ole days of blue. |

They seem so distant now. But it wasn't all that long ago when Dems held EVERY Statewide office in Texas!

5. Oh yes. I remember the good old days of racist Dixiecrats. They all |
|
felt their hatred was more tolerated in the Republican party! I am a transplanted native Texan and have never forgotten the days after Brown V. Board of Education.

6. I am 51...you are referring back well before I was... |
|
...I was thinking Gov. White, Gov. Richards, and the like.....the dixiecrats were a different breed, but had more roots in the deep south than Texas, although there were a few here too.
And THAT wasn't BLUE...that was RED.....at least!

7. Well, it's a reminder that we aren't the oldest ones here.... |
|
I'm older than you, but I also realize the dixiecrats are ancient history.
LBJ knew that pushing Civil Rights legislation would lose the South for the Democrats for some time. I think that time may have passed.
