Colbert is an edgy comic.........
that is his background. His profession is to promote his form of theatrics. It happens that he chooses politics to channel his art, even though most of us may agree with what he is saying at the WH dinner be careful on where the message is coming from.

1. His profession is not to "promote".
Edited on Mon May-01-06 08:50 PM by tuvor
It's to entertain. His agent is the promoter.

(Did YOU agree with what he was saying?)

Welcome to DU! :hi:

15. So you DON'T agree with him. Hardly surprising.
"We progressives" get our news from all over. Not just Comedy Central & not just "main stream."

Squealing like a stuck pig, aren't you?

11. Colbert smacked Bu*h down like a KKK republican at an NAACP
convention.

That is where Colbert was coming from. Bu*h is a lying asshole, and Colbert told him that he is a lying asshole right to his face.

13. Comedy and Right Wing only make sense with satire ...
Those smarmy folks have NO sense of humor.

That's why I love to watch them adore their authority figures and spew bravado.

Like retarded folks, sometimes the jokes write themselves.

What troubles me is that these a**holes get *real mean* when they begin to lose power.

Hunker down because it's not going to be pretty.

But GOD BLESS AMERICA it's going to be very satisfying to take them down. ;) :hi:

14. We know exactly where Colbert's message is coming from.
From the truth. Not "truthiness." Yes, he's a comic. And he's a good one.

His message definitely stung those who deserve to be stung. Their minions can't discredit him.

...I think you may be on to something, we do need to be more carefuller. "Colbert," what the hell kinda name is that anyway, sounds French to me. Hey...wait just a minute...come to think of it, he didn't mention Freedom Fries even one time throughout his whole speech at that White House dinner. What kind of patriot is that? And that word he uses: "truthiness," that sounds like a dainty little word a Frenchman might use, maybe a gay Frenchman. Wow!!! As if French isn't bad enough...French AND gay, that's really bad!!! Really really bad!!! Makes you wonder just who he's actually working for...hmmmm...French conspiracy I'd bet. Yeah, that's what it is...a gay French conspiracy!!!!

Just look at the edgy, comic bastard's facial expression in this cartoon...he's French alright. Nice work, SeaNap05, thanks to your due diligence we've unmasked another one. Keep up the good work.
