NOT votes now, but votes in the future. In other words, if all these immigrants become citizens, who do you think they will vote for? I think they are more likely to vote for democratic candidates then republican candidates. Does anyone think this thought is effecting politicians stance on the issue???

2. Everything Rove does is about votes
if lobbing mortars into crowds of war protestors would secure a GOP majority in the next Congress, he'd do it. The fact that he and the big corporations have prgranized these marches tells me that there's GOP votes in them.

4. Actually, I'm afraid this entire fiasco will hurt Democrats.
I have yet to see a poll that isn't heavily weighted against the "immigrants." I've heard many people say they will vote against anyone who endorses amnesty. We have the possibility of winning Congress back in November, but this issue might be the breaker. Future Democratic voters are just that: FUTURE Democratic voters. (And no, I don't have a solution.)

5. Of course it is about votes.
It is ALL ABOUT VOTES.

Anyone who has been around politics long enough has to realize that this is just another wedge issue to try and distract mainstream voter and fire up the republican base with some segment of society to blame for their economic ills.

Let's change the subject and focus on ousting the miscreants, investigating the tyrants and impeaching and convicting them.

6. I have to admit they are a bit ahead of me
I just thought about this seeing all those marchers yesterday. I couldn't help but to compare it to the Save Dafur rally on Sunday and the civil rights / Vietnam protests of the past ... primarily democrats. All these "protestors" (I don't really like word it sounds so negative) can't possibly be republicans :) Although I guess the right-wingers do show up for the anti-abortion rally and or the Florida recounts, they don't tend to lead on social protests.
