Violent Protests in San Diego tonight
I was afraid that this might happen. No mention of who comprised the "unruly crowd"

"San Diego County sheriff's officials say officers were trying to disperse an unruly crowd at an immigration rally in Vista.

Sheriff's Lieutenant Phil Brust says officers were called to the rally on the city's east side at about 7:50 p.m. There were reports of protesters throwing rocks and bottles at deputies.

Brust says several hundred people are at the rally, but so far there no reports of injuries and no arrests.

Police agencies from throughout San Diego County have been called to help quell the disturbance, including Carlsbad, Chula Vista, Coronado, El Cajon, Escondido, La Mesa, National City, Oceanside, Harbor police and the California Highway Patrol."

1. "Unruly" might mean "noisy"
for all we know.

As for protestors throwing rocks at deputies, did that happen before or after officers tried to disburse the protestors?

"...“The Sheriff's Department is not placing blame on the demonstrators,” Revell said. “We believe this is a very small group of people who are making this protest for criminal behavior.”

4. That seems to be getting to be more and more common over the past 25+ yrs
The local sports team wins the championship...here's our chance to burn cars.
A peace rally is going on...let's vandalize propery.
A public gathering is about to take place...let's break store windows and loot the shops.

5. How many police does it take to control a small group of troublemakers?
There must have been a lot of tension in the air.
Did you see how many police forces were called out for "a small group"
Police...Where are they when you really need them

7. It's always open warfare in San Diego
on Mexicans. That started a long time ago. I would suspect some of the populace more than the police to infiltrate to start something.
