Quinnipiac Poll : Anti-Bush, Anti-War Feeling Does Not Hurt Lieberman
U.S. Sen. Joseph Lieberman gets a 59 - 29 percent approval, compared to 63 - 25 percent February 16. In a possible Democratic primary, the incumbent beats businessman Ned Lamont 65 - 19 percent, with most Lamont supporters saying they are voting against Lieberman.

Running as an independent, Lieberman has 56 or 57 percent in possible three-way races, with Lamont challenging him on the Democratic line and either former State Rep. Alan Schlesinger or businessman Paul Streitz running on the Republican line.

Most Connecticut voters, 57 percent, know Lieberman supports the war in Iraq, but only 15 percent would vote against a candidate based only on his position on the war.

3. Hey nice ball game last night
maybe Mike Meyers should drop out. :)

Anyway, Ned's doing pretty well for someone who 90% of CT Dems don't know.

What does he have, 19% in that poll?

2. Not surprising...

While I have generally disliked primary challenges to incumbent Democrats, particularly since we are in the minority, and those challenges always seem to be directed at our strongest candidates, I was not as worked up over this one as I figured whoever won the primary would be elected to the Senate. However, we better get used to the fact that Joe Lieberman is going to be re-elected, and I think handily.

On many, many issues he has shown himself to be progressives. On the war, and particularly his overt cheerleading of it, he has lost his mind. However, he has no real influence on this subject anymore. Democrats, even Democrats who have legitimate concerns about an immeidate pullout now dismiss his ass-kissing, and Democrats who have opposed the war all along never took him seriously on the issue in the first place. Republicans who try to use him to claim bi-partisan support for their policy have gone to the Lieberman well so often that no on eis paying attention.

For now, I am just happy that we are going to retain a seat, and that we have a secure vote for Harry reid as Majority Leader!

4. Lieberman supported the Bankruptcy Bill
And is a Republican playing dressup as a Democrat

The same way Bush plays dressup as a cowboy.

7. actually, he voted no on the bankrupty bill
http://www.senate.gov/legislative/LIS/roll_call_lists/roll_call_vote_cfm.cfm?congress=109&session=1&vote=00044

Admittedly, he was one of fourteen Democrats who voted for cloture on the bill, but even if he had voted against, the cloture motion would've passed.

9. if that's how you want to look at it, fine
Baucus, Bayh, Bingaman, Inouye and Reid all voted against cloture, but for the bill. So do you think they voted for the bill or against it?

11. for it
if people do things that aid its passage and then try to cover up, they are voting for it.

Seems like those guys were trying to edge to the center.

10. Bad news for Lamont....
...even more than his vs. Liberman polls are his favorable polls. 90% do not know him.
