Subject: The Poor Dollar

I have been watching the exchange rate with Canada closely, and a funny thing happened Friday. The Canadian dollar is exactly as strong against the American dollar as it was in 1991, which was during the Bush I term.

Here are the numbers:

2006-04-24 Monday, April 24 0.879275 USD

2006-04-25 Tuesday, April 25 0.883626 USD

2006-04-26 Wednesday, April 26 0.887233 USD

2006-04-27 Thursday, April 27 0.890076 USD

2006-04-28 Friday, April 28 0.892618 USD !!!!

1991-10-29 October 29, Tuesday 0.890313 USD

1991-10-30 October 30, Wednesday 0.890631 USD

1991-10-31 October 31, Thursday 0.890472 USD

1991-11-01 November 01, Friday 0.892618 USD !!!!

1991-11-04 November 04, Monday 0.892061 USD

This is not 'happy' news so it might not get reported.

1. Bushes
Bush the father enacted the (up 'til then) highest tax increase in US history to end deficits, and revive the dollar. He also closed bases, and initiated the 'peace dividend.' He sacrificed his 2nd term, and made possible the tremendous surpluses of the Clinton Administration. He also served in WWII, and had a pretty impressive resume. Unfortunately, he'll be forever associated with the misdeeds of his unfortunate whelp.

Yes, I've read all about the BFEE. Some of it I find compelling. But still, I find Bush Sr's action (as President) in sync with the national interest, unlike his son's actions. I do think Bush, Sr. was a bit distant, clueless and cold, but he was an intellectual and a capable President, nonetheless. I like to compare him with his son, just to show how utterly incompetent/ruthlessly evil GWB is.

2. Some idiot freeper refused to believe those stats
I was engaged in an argument with a freeper on another board and he was trying to prove that nothing good came out of the Clinton administration and I mentioned that we had one of the biggest economic recessions in history under Reagan and Bush Sr., posted those statistics and he refused to believe it.

5. He can't
He'd have to stop believing in God.

That's the way their theology works.
