Reporter Asks Question, McClellan Blames Democrats

This is bizarre even by the skewed standards for honesty held by White House Press Secretary Scott "The Lyin' King" McClellan. Here's a reporter at yesterday's fibathon asking him if the mission has indeed been accomplished in Iraq -- at which point, Scottie tries to change the subject.

Q: Scott, given the current situation in Iraq, what the President described today as "havoc" --

McClellan: As what?

Q: Havoc, he used the word havoc today, could he, would he possibly stand under a sign that says "Mission Accomplished" today as he did three years ago?

McClellan: Well, Peter, I think that there are some Democrats that refuse to recognize the important milestone achieved by the formation of a national unity government. And there is an effort simply to distract attention away from the real progress that is being made by misrepresenting and distorting the past. And that really does nothing to help advance our goal of achieving victory in Iraq.

Q: Scott, simple yes or no question, could the President stand under a sign that says --

McClellan: No, see, this is -- this is a way that --

Q: It has nothing to do with Democrats.

McClellan: Sure it does.

Q: I'm asking you, based on a reporter's curiosity, could he stand under a sign again that says, "Mission Accomplished"?

McClellan: Now, Peter, Democrats have tried to raise this issue, and, like I said, misrepresenting and distorting the past --

Q: This is not --

McClellan: -- which is what they're doing, does nothing to advance the goal of victory in Iraq.

Q: I mean, it's a historical fact that we're all taking notice of --

McClellan: Well, I think the focus ought to be on achieving victory in Iraq and the progress that's being made, and that's where it is. And you know exactly the Democrats are trying to distort the past.

Q: Let me ask it another way: Has the mission been accomplished?

McClellan: Next question.

Q: Has the mission been accomplished?

McClellan: We're on the way to accomplishing the mission and achieving victory.
Is it time to bring on Tony Snowjob yet and send McClellan to the home for retired GOP liars?

8. I wish ONE reporter would point that out
Q. "Scott ... can you please explain how the Democrats are to blame for everything that has gone wrong in both Iraq and the US when they do not control any branch of our government?" :P

4. Bush's "Mission Accomplished" will live to haunt him for the rest of his
life. It was grandstanding at its finest. It was a PR stunt that went horribly wrong.

This is Bush dropping the football at the one yard line.

Hitting the wall on the final turn at the Indy 500.

Posing for pictures with his fly open.

Falling off his bicycle while waving.

Picking his nose in public, and having it filmed.

It was Bush's finest hour.

Which proves how pathetic he really is.

7. "Misrepresenting and distoring the past"
That is so rich. Of course, the lemmings will eat it up. I guess no American Servicemembers were killed after 1 May 2003. I guess the Iraqi Oil fields have paid for everything. I guess scott is still a lying idiot with zero credibility. He'll make a great lobbyist.

"I wanna blame the Democrats! Just write the Democrats are to blame. Next question."

Tell you what, Scott; let the reporters ask the questions, you just answer them. Mmmkay?

14. ...BushCo. itself is in controll of all three branches of government.
Not to mention that Bush himself just makes the law as his word (over 750 times so far in his administration) no different than a king (who eats cake as NOLA drowns.)

No diferent than a dictatorship, so the "Decider in Dictatorship" is accountable. He just doesn't have to answer to us, the proles under his power.

Funny, according to the administration's facade policy, someone should "bring democracy to America" and create a "regime change" to free us of our dictatorship...that is, if you take BushCo's lie about bringing democracy to the world at it's lying-face value.

16. Man, That Guy is Pathetic...

I loved that last part...

"Q: Let me ask it another way: Has the mission been accomplished?

McClellan: Next question.

Q: Has the mission been accomplished?

McClellan: We're on the way to accomplishing the mission and achieving victory."

Now, if I were the reporter being blown off like that, my next comment would have been "so the answer is 'no', then? Thank you, sir!"
