No matter what happens tonight, someone please tell General Clark...
to stay in the race. America needs his message. No candidate speaks with the same clarity or sense of purpose. The Democratic Party needs the voices of General Clark and Dennis Kucinich. We want both of them to stay in the race. Even if they do not win the Presidency, their message in necessary for the survival of the Democratic Party, in my opinion. They have the ideas to change the debate about the direction our country is going. That is no small achievement. So, Clark and Kucinich supporters, please tell them both to stay in the race, no matter what happens tonight.

2. Why would he leave?
After tonight, the only southern state to have had a primary will be South Carolina. Clark will surely carry Oklahoma.

I don't want him to even consider dropping out until we Southerners have had our say.

:-)

7. Stress and emotion have clearly taken over!
Let's have a moritorium on the punditry.

Clark will stay.

This morning's pundits were saying if Kerry wins, Edwards will drop out and throw his support(ers) to Kerry. Just when I started to get hysterical, his campaign spokesman said that was a lot of hooey.

Beware of the BS - I'm detecting it here. In the past 2 minutes, I've found topics posted and removed so fast, I'm still dizzy.

I don't know if it's freepers or us just spinning out, but everyone: please chill, do some stretching if you're at work and try to calm down.

(thanks)

13. Edwards
I'm a Dean-supporter, but I would also be glad to see Kerry, Clark, or Dennis K. secure the nomination. Sharpton's connection to that Republican strategist knocks him off my list. Lieberman is Bush-lite. Edwards has not come out strongly in favor of civil rights/benefits for LGBTs. This is important to me, even though I'm not gay and have been happily married for 20 years. I believe that if I do not fight for an inclusive society that respects civil rights to the Nth-degree, my lack of civil rights is sure to follow. Someone must stand up to the Religious Right Bullies. Edwards seems to be very concerned with not offending members of the Religious Right, who want to legislate their version of evangelical beliefs/their interpretation of the Bible. Does an Edwards-supporter have a reply?

20. Well...
Edwards did vote for the Hate Crimes bill, and has said that while he doesn't himself believe in Gay Marriage, he is against a Constitutional Amendment banning Gay Marriage, and believes that the states should have a right to legalize it. He also believes that there should be equal federal protection given to civil unions. He is obviously not as far left on the issue as Dean/Kucinich/Kerry, but he is definitely well left of the Republicans.

8. I hope that whatever happens
he continues to speak out and contribute to the discourse in this country.

I'm so proud to have been able to support him as a candidate, and I don't regret a single penny that I've contributed, no matter what happens.

9. I agree.....our party and our country need to continue to hear
the voices of both of these candidates. It might not be a bad idea to email their national HQ's and let them know how much we need them to stay in the race.

I just spoke to the Clark HQ's in OK and the race is a dead heat.

I just took a break from calling people and will be back on the phones to get the vote out for General Clark

19. Best idea yet!
Instead of 10% of the country whittling it down to one or two non-choices for the rest of us, it would indeed be ideal if every voter has a chance to choose from among all the candidates. For obvious reasons, this would be impractical nearly to the point of impossibility, but still, it would be nice.

12. Okay everyone, take a deep breath...
The polls haven't even closed for crying out loud!!!!!

The General has brought, and WILL CONTINUE to bring, his message of vision and hope to this campaign. I have faith in him and his ability to win out. After tonight it will be impossible for the right-wing-controlled media machine to ignore this truly great man.

So sit up straight, shoulders back and stay focused. This is a LONG way from being done, and the General hasn't finished his mission yet..Liberty from uncontrollable coporatism and capitalist cronyism...

WE WILL WIN!!

GO WES GO!!!!

15. Where are these panic attacks coming from?
Some exit polls, taken by a right wing magazine and promoted by Drudge?

Buck up people. Polls have showed a tight, 3-way race for Oklahoma for days now. It's no surprise that things might be close. Clark will win or tie for a win in OK. He will be a strong 2nd, at least, in Arizona and I suspect he'll do well in NM & ND.

Relax folks.

21. Kucinich needs to drop out. Sorry. He's taking $ and time from
the real contenders for the nomination.

Clark - if he wins at least one state (preferably two), to show he's a real contender, then he should stay in. Otherwise, he needs to drop out. But Kucinich doesn't have a chance to get the nomination; at this point, it becomes vanity and ego that will drive his campaign.

I'm a Clark supporter, but a realist at the same time. The eventual nominee will need all donations to combat Bush in the GE.
