$40,000.00 a year to "house" each US soldier in Iraq!
NPR has just reported the Pentagon is paying $40,000.00 a year to "house" each US soldier in Iraq. The total cost for each US soldier in Iraq is over $360,000.00 a year. Billions of dollars are unaccounted for. No oversight whatever by Congress. Never mind gas gouging. What about war profiteering!!!

2. Thanks to diplomacy and team building
in the 90's during operation Southern Watch, the Saudi Government paid for housing and feeding U. S., British and French personnel as well as providing fuel for our aircraft while the joint operation maintained the no-fly zone over Iraq allowing the inspectors to do their jobs. Gosh what a difference our regime change made.

5. how much housing allowance do the families get state side?
If it cost THAT much to house troops in tents and mostly crap conditions -- then how much does it cost to house the dependents??

More like the Treasury has been opened wide for Halliburton to loot. This idea of contracting out services which used to be done in-house by the military is not working very well. (Or working out very well for Halliburton et al)

6. take home
Does anyone know how much the average soldier takes home each year? I have a feeling it's a bit less than $360K.
