Mercy for Moussawi
Let the Muslim world know - we showed mercy to Moussawi.

1. Well, his role in 9/11 was at the extreme periphery.
So, I'm not at all surprised about his sentence. But that won't stop the RW loonies from attempting to exploit it.

3. I'm afraid the Muslim world will not be impressed.
After all, they never give us credit for taking their side in the Balkan conflict, either.

4. Why make him a martyr by giving him death?
You execute this guy and the extremists have another figure to worship. Plus, Moussawi would get his hands on those dozens of virgins just that much sooner if he were executed. I don't think so...

5. Heh. I don't think prison life here where he's going
would be considered "mercy."

6. I'm proud of the jury
And I don't for a minute think he got off easy. This will be harder than death in many ways.

I think we chose mercy over retribution and justice over vengeance.
