I posted this suggestion a few months back. The idea sunk like a stone. But as we're getting closer to the serious campaign season, I want to post it again. It is just an idea. A suggestion. Mainly for people in blue districts in blue states.
I'm pretty sure that many of us plan to do some on-the-ground work in the upcoming campaigns. Door knocking. Phone banking. Poll taxiing. Whatever. We're probably also going to give money as we're able.
If you're in a safe Dem dem district, consider this. As you give to suppoprt your own guy, consider also donating some money to the campaign of a Dem in a fight or to a challenger in a currently red district. This way, you get to choose who you support. Some of you may choose to support only centrists or only progressives. But consider this. Even the most conservative DEM candidate in a **really** conservative district is plus for our side. In the House, its all about the seat count. We simply need to put butts in the chairs. If you're in a blue district and love your guy, you may find some of these other challengers a bit too conservative for your tastes. But consider ..... if they're the only choice in that district in, say, Kansas, or Mississippi, or Wyoming, then any support you give them is support for the Dem incumbents who will soon become commitee chairs and will soon be able to use the sacred subpoena and will soon be able to control the flow of legislation.
So please .... at least consider Adopt-A-District 06. We will **all** benefit from such an effort.
