Why Fox News was ranked most trusted news source in recent poll
http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20060503/tv_nm/media_survey_dc

The best comparison I can make to this severely flawed study would be this: "Who do you trust most?" 1. George W Bush 2. Howard Dean 3. John Kerry 4. Harry Reid 5. Dennis Kucinich 5.Barbara Boxer 6. Hillary Clinton 7. Wesley Clark 8. John Murtha 9. Nancy Pelosi 10. Russ Feingold
11. Al Gore

Hmmmm, who thinks Bush comes out on top in that survey? He would probably even get more than 11%. It is a simple matter of dilution and even further proves Fox is biased. Bush would get creamed in a trust question against any one of those people in a head to head poll.

Have you ever met a Republican that didn't watch Fox News? It is a complete monopoly for their party and they will always do well in the ratings because of that. Of course Republicans are going to say they trust them. But the moderates, independents, liberals, progressives, etc. have to choose between all the truly fair and balanced news sources, which divides up their vote.

The fact that Fox only got 11% is pretty embarrassing. Did you notice that O'Reilly failed to mention that Al Jezeera also came out on top for their region. What a shocker. He also forgot to mention that in another study by PIPA, that Fox viewers were shown to be the least informed.

2. Fox
I seen that. It's nothing but drama queens dressed in drag wrapped up in the flag. At first I though that it was comedy, but then ya find out them bastards are serious. Seriously out of balance.

Still, its good they don't tell the truth cause then everyone would feel pretty awful and gawd forbid America feels awful. Everything is fine, the fox is in charge of the steeple of the sheeple's temple. I feel good, just like the captain of the blimp said I should.

4. speaking of comedy
there is further evidence that watchers of The Daily Show and Colbert Report are much more informed than Fox viewers.

3. The reason is simple.
None of us on DU trust ANY news source. Freepers trust Fox, and thus, the numbers come out in their favor.

5. Very misleading headline.
Only 11% of those Americans who responded named FOX. That is more probably a function of the vast choices of news sources that Americans have as compared to those of the other areas.

Asked to name the news source they most trusted, without any prompting, 59 percent of Egyptians said Al Jazeera, 52 percent of Brazilians said Rede Globo, 32 percent of Britons said the BBC, 22 percent of Germans said ARD and 11 percent of Americans said Fox News, each leading their respective nations.

The most trusted news brands globally were the BBC, Britain's publicly funded broadcaster, and CNN, which is owned by the world's biggest media conglomerate, Time Warner Inc..

8. Yeah, what if it would have said Al Jazeera 5 times more trusted
than Fox in respective countries. Fox viewers would be screaming, well of course because they have a monopoly on news in an Islamic region. They wouldn't even see the parallel to their comment.

11. O'Reilly has bocome so desperate lately and I truly
believe he suffers from some form of mental illness. Olbermann is driving him to madness. Too funny.

12. Having seen his show...
I would say he suffers from some sort of aggressive anger management issues, I think of him as a grown man who has the emotional capability of a 2 year old, in other words, he never got out of the "terrible 2s".
