So Goss resigns out of the blue the same day Jack Straw gets replaced
as home Secretary - any speculation of what could have been a common link to those 2 events?

6. Jack Straw was FOREIGN secretary
Charles Clarke was Home secretary. Please try and check up on these things first.

Either way, Clarke's been sacked and Straw demoted, but the reason for this is Labours bad results in Thursday's local government elections. That's all there is too it really.
