Rep. Patrick Kennedy's Traffic Accident Report
Washington, D.C.
May 4, 2006

Rep. Patrick Kennedy's (Dem. - R.I.) early morning traffic accident report on Capitol Hill involving his 1997 Mustang. In a statement to the press, Kennedy said that he "do not remember getting out of bed, being pulled over by the police, or being cited for three driving infractions." According to the police officer's report, Kennedy explained that he was “headed to the Capitol to make a vote.’ Kennedy will reportedly seek professional help for an addiction to pain medication, citing concern over his “reaction to the medication.”

This sounds an *awful* lot like all the other reports of "sleep-driving" that I was seeing on CNN and BBC just a couple of weeks ago.

The actual scanned citation is here: http://news.findlaw.com/cnn/docs/dui/pkennedy50406rpt.html

1. LOL in the scanned citation
There's a space to fill in who was the owner of the vehicle barrier involved in the crash. Officer listed the Architect of Capitol Buliding.

2. There is actually a position called 'Architect of the Capitol'...
he is responsible for maintenance etc. for the Capital Building complex. I think he/she is appointed by the president.
