John Mc.Cain not welcomed at Bob Kerrey's New School commencement
Edited on Sat May-06-06 09:43 AM by killerbush
Three days after John Mc.Cain is to speak at Liberty university, he has also accepted an invitation to speak at the commencement at Bob Kerrey's New School in New York.
However, some at the university don't want Mc.Cain to speak, and they have let their voices be known of that fact. Some 9000 people have signed an online petition to stop the address by Mc.Cain because he has vaulted to the right by endorsing South Dakota's abortion ban, his speech at Liberty university, and his outspoken support for the war.
Despite the protests, Kerrey said he is going ahead with plans for Mc.Cain to speak. He says he hears the voices of the protesters, but Mc.Cain has already accepted, and he won't un-invite him. Kerrey called Mc.Cain one of the most important leaders in the world today, and it's a big honor to our graduates and their familes to hear a man like Mc.Cain speak.

1. Let him talk
And make sure he gets a proper New School welcome from staff and students.

In fact, let him have a question and answer session after his speech.

3. There will be no question period after the speech
This is a commencement speech, not a question and answer interview.

2. McCain's pandering to the right has destroyed his credibility
with reasonable people who might have given him a chance.

McCain, you sold out by embracing the "Christian" right.

5. The grads should turn their backs on traitor McCain.
Any good that McCain has done in his life is long in the past. His support for the traitorous corporate cabal has shown him to be un-American and cowardly.

6. Sad that media hyped McCain into a far better person than he has proven to
be - just like Bush.
