Homeland Security job= fight Bush critics not make us safe
Former watchdog at Homeland Security says DHS protected White House instead of Americans by Lara Jakes Jordan, Associated Press

May 1, 2006

The Homeland Security Department has made the nation only marginally safer than it was before the 2001 terror attacks that spawned its creation, the agency's former internal watchdog charges in a new book.

The memoir released Monday by former Homeland Security inspector general Clark Kent Ervin also accuses Tom Ridge, the department's first secretary, of shutting down critics instead of focusing on terrorists.

1. He was great on TDS Wednesday...
Says he's a conservative Republican but he buried the Bush Administration and Ridge for their inaction to protect our country...

It's just sad that it's taken this long for all the conservatives to turn on Bush. All of them knew he was doing a bad job by November 2004 yet they decided keeping themselves in power was more important than electing a Democrat who might actually do the job these people are complaining hasn't been done.

this was a concerted effort to create a one party government with no opposition, I wish they
had spoken up in 2004, but I am sure that many weighed the possibility of possible negative
consequences for themselves against letting this go on. I would like to add where would we
be w/o Jon Stewart and Steve Colbert, they should get medals when this is all over, for being
the unofficial ambassadors for the American people.

4. that is why the trains are still so vulnerable and the ports
My sister was saying that in DC there are more police with high power weapons per square inch
than anywhere else on the planet but that there is no real security in the Metro underneath
everything.

she has to work late and when she goes down to get the metro there is no one around at all,
not in the booths where they are supposed to be/nowhere, and the cars often only have the
engineer in the "caboose" driving and there is literally no one.
