Poll question: Will catchin/killing Bin Laden be the Magic Bullet for the Chimpastration? |
|
Edited on Sat May-06-06 05:36 PM by MrModerate
I'd think it distinctly possible to catch him at some point in the next three years. And certainly they'd try to time it to best effect (late October 2006 or late October 2008 comes to mind). But here's the question: Will it do them any good? Will it reverse the slide in the polls and start things on an upward trend? Will The People suddenly believe again in the wisdom of the Iraq war? Will wavering Republicans abase themselves again at Schimpanski's feet, eager to suck the mud off his boots?
Or not?

Bush will never capture/kill bin Laden while he's preznit. The Bush family crime cartel is in close alliance with the bin Laden family; for the chimperor to disgrace the bin Laden family by bringing their bad seed to justice would be detrimental to business, and that's really all the matters, isn't it. Ain't gonna happen on Chimpy's watch.

Who, as ultrarich fat cats, don't exactly share his views on virtue and the attractiveness of Western culture. On the whole, I'm sure they'd prefer to see him dragged by his heels from the back of a Range Rover through the streets of Peshawar.

W will not disrupt decades of positive Bus/bin Laden business relations by dragging an errant black sheep family member to justice, for any reason. It will never happen while he's chimperor.

Catch and kill his own manufactured boogeyman? Harm the guy who single-handedly justifies the Bush Junta's usurpation of liberty, desecration of the Constitution and pillage of the Treasury? Catch the Bush Crime Family's top enforcer?
Don't make me laugh.

For a true belly laugh, check out the Libby Dole fundraising letter post that just showed up a minute or two ago. You'll feel better.

you're not looking for. Besides a bin Laden at large is so much more useful to BushCo than a dead one.

Perhaps a surge in poll numbers. Certainly the media will hurry to re-align themselves with the Chimperial Guard.
But ultimately, Osama serves them better in the long run while he's running around Tora Bora or wherever. So long as he is a free man, he is carte blanch for the * administration. If they catch him, then after the surge of cheering dies down, most Americans will truly consider the war on terror to be over, and will begin truly being steadfastly opposed to * policy, domestic and abroad.
Basicly, if Osama were ever captured / killed, * would lose the 9/11 talking point. As that talking point is ALL that he has, I don't forsee them cashing the chip in for a brief poll surge for a guy who can't run for a third term.

IF * had ever intended to catch BinLaden, it would have already happened...they LET him escape at ToraBora...he would not be caught alive..dead, perhaps...and that would mean next to nothing...he knows too much about *, so it isn't going to happen... windbreeze
