Discrimination based on diagnosis--please defeat S. 1955.
We need every person who opposes this GIVEAWAY to Big Insurance to call now--cloture vote is TOMORROW. Please--take some action--just a phone call will do.

I'm literally cyber-begging you, call your Senators NOW and tomorrow to defeat S. 1955, the Enzi FRAUD health care bill.

This is not the way to ensure health care for all--it merely strips away existing protections for those insured through small employers and is a slippery slope to making bare-bones, expensive group insurance the norm.

AARP/American Cancer Society/American diabetes association print ad:
http://www.diabetes.org/uedocuments/s1955.AARP.ADA.AHA.Ad.pdf

A likely scenario under the bill:

A fact sheet from the American Diabetes association:
http://www.diabetes.org/uedocuments/EnzifactsheetREV.pdf

This is a slippery slope bill--many states are counting on this legislation to pass and Republicans in state legislatures are writing bills to go along with the Enzi bill.

Thanks for your time--and for demonstrating that our diseased lives matter, too.

2. Thanks--I wish DUers who are free of chronic diseases could understand
what's at stake, but I know it's difficult unless one is afflicted or knows someone who is.

Sigh...

3. If this bill passes
and insurance companies act on it to raise their rates for anyone old or with a medical history I'm toast. I won't be around for long.

The small business I work for will not be able to afford insurance. I will loose access to medical care I can't live without.

This bill is nothing less than legal permission to let non-wealthy people die, slowly and painfully. It is state sponsored euthanasia is the most vicious possible way.

4. You said it better than I could.
I appear quite healthy to most, but I've taken insulin for over 40 years and my secondary complications are gnawing me to death.

This bill is a KILLER for many of us--me included.

9. The National MS Society as well is against this...

I've emailed the sentators of my state, but I'm not holding out much hope, as they both are repubs.

Now, if the state reps were voting...I'd have a chance of getting thru. Oh well.

Keeping my fingers crossed and prayers going that this bill DOES NOT PASS.

this is bad, bad, bad news for anyone with a chronic diease. no scratch that. this is bad news for ALL of us.
