URGENT ACTION NEED! Ask Senate to OPPOSE SB 1955
Congressional Switchboard: 1-877-851-6437 CALL NOW!

SB 1955: Health Insurance Marketplace Act
Date: April 17, 2006

In case you have not heard. . .

The American Nurses Association needs YOU to contact your
Senators to urge them to VOTE NO on the Health Insurance
Marketplace Modernization and Affordability Act (S. 1955).
The Senate is expected to vote on S. 1955 the first week of
May, so we need you to contact your Senators before May 1!

This legislation has been promoted as a way to make
insurance more accessible and affordable to small
businesses. In reality, S. 1955 would wipe away important
health insurance protections and access to APRNs, and make
health care coverage more expensive for older and unhealthy
individuals.

Millions of Americans would LOSE COVERAGE for such
important primary and preventative care as: screenings for
breast, cervical, colorectal and prostate cancer;
well-child care and immunizations; contraception; emergency
services; mental health; and diabetes supplies and
education.
