best way to weaken McCain's support
if McCain were to end up Republican nominee i think the best way to weaken his support or popularity is to show him as a sell out. because his popularity is based on the Maverick image. it's not about whether he is liberal or conservative, but about how he is a political whore.

and one of the best ways to do it is as Colbert did it with sarcasm and ridicule.

if we attack him for being a right winger and not independent, he will just laugh and say "of course i'm conservative i'm a Republican but i disagree with my party sometimes and am not afraid to ............" and that will put an end to that and make him look good.

that's why we need to point out his whoring and switching positions.

it wouldn't hurt to start doing this right now on a smaller scale just to get it into people's heads how much of a whore he is. even if he doesn't end up the candidate we might still benefit because his endorsement or views wouldn't be viewed as positively by many.

1. I've already done that
I gave him a sizeable contribution in 2000. He's bugged me since. I just told him to remove my name from his mailing list. He once spoke against BJU but now he's speaking at Liberty? Don't quite think so.

2. Yes, but not call him a whore. Perhapse just ask "Which McCain is
it THIS TIME? That way, you're not calling him names assailing his positions or anything like that. All you're doing is pointing out that he has multiple personalities, and how do you know which one you're going to get THIS TIME????

13. I didn't think you would! I'm sorry if I sounded critical. I didn't mean
to. My point was to point out to anyone who might consider voting for him that there are comspicuously at least TWO McCains! One you might like, and one you might not! Which one is the one you'll get????

4. Re:
I liked McCain, because I thought that he was moderate. But when he got Flawell's (not a typo) nomination, that ended THAT.

Apparently, he's as right-wing as most other current Republicans.

just as willing to do and say anything for a vote. Thought at one time he might be the only repuke I'd vote for but not any more.

8. Not much of a stretch; McCain is a big sellout and a toady, not
a maverick at all. I watch Imus, and he thinks McCain is the second coming, and for the life of me, I can't figure out why.
I detest the guy.

9. Except that Tweety still loves to call him "the Maverick" daily..
Then again, Tweety is an idiot.

McCain has changed in the past 8 years..

His face never moves, only his lips, and he slurps when he talks. The 70-something year old needs to buy a fishing boat and retire somewhere.

BTW. What's he doing in this picture?

12. He's relishing in the speech of John Kerry, because that man has
a way with words! Seriously, no shit, Senator Kerry rocks me and my world.
Ironically, Imus likes McCain and that other guy there,
Howard Ford???
Fuck Imus, I'm stuck on Kerry.

20. It looks like a joint press conference
Kerry and McCain did have a few (mainly Veterans rights) bills that they did together. Probably from several years ago. What's amazing is how much McCain's appearance has changed. (Kerry's hair is brown, not silver here, but oddly I noticed that the suit was black and tie a greenish color - which is different from the dark navy blue suits and his current ties)

11. Listen to Majority Report on AAR.
And get a copy of that soundbite where McCain says "no."

You'll have never heard such a tortured human being in your entire life. It's downright painful.

And it would shame the entire Republican party right out the door, if used properly.

15. You could always mention McCain's black daughter.
Seems to have worked for Spurious George. If they call you on it, just direct their enquiries to him, and perhaps he'd like to comment...

19. If people only listens to the msm
McCain is primarily portrayed as someone who is willing to work with both parties - a person who thinks for himself. Independents especially are looking for a "uniter" and this portrayal fits the bill. The thing is, if they took the time to look at McCain's voting record, another picture would appear. The question is, if these people do not read, and the msm doesn't do its job, how can you change their perception?
