DU this MSNBC Poll on use of National Guard on Border
http://msnbc.msn.com/id/12798506/ You know how to vote. This is a political stunt and the National Guard is already at the breaking point.

Why don't they just say...America doesn't give a rat's ass about the National Guard. Shit.

6. Yes, I do know how to vote
and I'm sure it's not what you're expecting. I'd rather have the NG HERE than having their asses shot up over there. I'm funny that way.

9. I think there are some who feel the same way
get them out of Iraq and let them patrol the border. I am still not over confident about this.

8. At the start of Hurricane season, after Katrina, this?
The lack of guardsmen last year was a major cause of the delay of food, water, medicine, equipment and evacuations during Katrina and the other storms. Now they want to deploy them on the border as if this should be the priority? This is just all political posturing. I doubt that they'll even make this happen like the big announcement once that the US would go to Mars. They are so desperate and pathetic.

15. Unbelieveable how they can manufacture a crisis where none exists.
Nothing has changed about the immigration issue for years, yet they are calling out the NG to stabilize and imaginary problem.

16. 69to31 FOR??? what the hell?
Be wary, be very wary...the truth of this situation is not being told...there are hidden dangers if we allow this...* has been trying to federalize the NG for a couple years now...this is just another ploy to accomplish it...
My question....
Why does * seem to be so damned determined to use our national guard for all sorts of things they were not meant for? The NG are NOT federal troops that he can just use however he damned well pleases...WHY IS he proposing this and WHAT exactly is he up too with this proposal? NG, are protection for the citizens of the state they are from, not the country at large, and to respond to natural/unnatural disasters w/in their home state....(or others, if asked for)..
Will all states have to supply troops? Wouldn't individual state governors have to give approval, for their NG's useage in this manner? Couldn't a governor refuse, if the borders to be protected, are not their own state's borders? because basically the NG is supposed to be used to protect their own state, against enemies, foreign or domestic...
We better be careful about what we are willing to allow...this is a Federal troop assignment...not a state troop assignment...IT is supposedly the country at large being defended...not an individual state...something about this whole thing, stinks to high heaven...

18. I agree with you.
This is not a good thing.

One thing is...the whole plan is just an attempt to pander to Bush's base, who're angry with him over the immigration issue...meaning it's one enormous waste of money and manpower.

The other is...right now they're just "patrolling the border" to keep the immigrants out. How far is that from keeping us IN? :tinfoilhat:

20. Im sorry I had to vote yes..
I dont hate the guard but I much rather them be there curbing this HUGE problem then fighting in some terrible war.

Remember they will not take direct role just work with the border patrol. Like a bit MinuteMen project.
