It's time to shut down the entire news media and run one of those old Teletext systems, straight out of the White House. Even Colbert's suggestion that the press just type and spell-check is giving them too much credit.

How "Look, Halley's comet!" distractable can they get?

What happened to trigger this sudden immigration-crisis talk? Did Elian Gonzalez swim back to Miami? Did we find a connection between Al Qaeda and Fernando Valenzuela?

This issue is on the front burner for no other reason than that the Repubs want to rally their xenophobic base. And anyone who notices that has to hold back the puke, as we hear the pundits talk about this "white hot issue."
