New Republican cop- out: "I'm only interested in local races"
"because I care so much about my kids' future"

This from the rabid Bushphile/Santorumphile I have to work with all day at the polls.

All of a sudden, it's all local - all of a sudden, he doesn't "care" about the Presidency or the Senate.

3. What the Hell!
They don't need a big turnout. Diebold et.al. will vote for them. LOL

2. Local until a medically braindead lesbian wants to marry her life partner-
Santorum is an ass and your co-worker is an ass for believing that he's not a complete republican shill.

4. They're embarrassed
They know their boys are idiots, so now it's all about the local pols they want to get elected.

Oh, but he thinks Lynn Swann "is really smooth! He can talk his way out of anything!" Uh, okay.

7. Ya think?
What kills me is the guy is struggling financially. Lost his job a while back, finally got a new one. NOT one of the top 2% who will benefit from ANYTHING the cons are putting out there.

Is anyone else hearing this? This focus on "our local races"?

9. Cop out? Yes.
But what it means is that they've given up already.

Tip O'Neill said, "All politics is local". I don't know what you friend thinks good local government does, but he's written off the immediate past as a plan for the future and will try to rebuild a Republican base at a local level. Santorum is through and so is the Bush agenda.

10. ACK ...
I actually like my local Representative a good amount, my local congressman a little ... Both are Rs ...

Both are big party guys, the senator a big Santorum guy ... Hard for me to get past the fact that I am OK with them at our level, while wanting to quit my job and spend every waking minute of the next five months doing all that I can to make sure Santorum is sent packing ... Went to Kiwanis today, and the senator pulled up in his SUV with a Santorum sticker on it ... ACK ...

11. Haven't voted for a single R in years
We used to have a state rep named Lita Cohen who was really nice person, and her husband would work the polls with me. But eventually, I thought "why am I giving the state Republican caucus, mostly Pennsyltucky yahoos, one more vote?"

The local people are just as bad and just as fascist as Little Ricky and that idiot in the White House.

It does make me feel good that they're disavowing their national leadership, though!
