I think this is how they are setting it up.

2. Yes--but it is the entree (oops, I used a word from
another language) to the Immigration Issue, which is what they really want to get into.
In countries like Canada you can really get behind the language separatist issues. Here, the bottom line is the economic impact of immigrants--that is what they are trying to set up as the divisive factor.

3. Doubt it
Doesn't have the same emotional impact as gays actually being allowed the same rights as the rest of us.

It could be used as a lead-in to the immigration issue though, it's got just the right aroma of superiority and racism.

5. Imagine what they would do
to an American-flag-burning gay couple marrying in a Spanish ceremony.

7. Being born and raised in a multi-lingual country, I have seen at first
hand how devisive an issue language can become. Canada
is another example of separatist forces exploiting the
language issue. For the sake of long term unity in my
newly adopted country, the US of A, I fervently hope
and pray English will become the sole language of all
business and government.

8. A response: "Learn Espanol. It won't bite you."
There's nothing wrong with having a country that speaks two languages.
