Why are we still afraid of terrorists?
Bush is tapping all our phones and tracing all our calls. If the NSA program is worth what we are probably paying for it, there can't be any terrorists in the U.S. or if there are, they can't be communicating with terrorists outside the U.S. or even with each other.

Guantanamo is full of prisoners, all supposedly terrorists. They've been tortured. Surely they've told our intelligence officers exactly where all the terrorist leaders are. And surely we have located the leaders and taken them as prisoners too.

We invaded Afghanistan and have taken it out of the control of the terrorists and sent them into disarray.

The Pakistani government is supposedly our friend and on our side in the fight against the terrorists -- so if the terrorists were there, our friends in the Pakistani government would just let us go get them or at least eavesdrop and watch them so they couldn't do anything to harm us, wouldn't they?

The terrorists in Iraq aren't the ones who did 9/11 and besides the terrorists in the Middle East are busy fighting us in Iraq so we don't need to fear them do we?

We tortured the terrorists we took as prisoners not only at Guantanamo but in other places in the world so that we could get information from them. By this time, we should know more about the terrorists than they know about themselves.

Surely, after all of these efforts we have either ferreted out all the terrorists, or know where they are so they can't move without our knowing about it.

So, by now, we must be safe. What is there to worry about?

so why are we so worried?

6. Now that we're so worried about peasant Mexican labor
and the threats to survival presented to the English language, I had assumed all the terrorists were already done.

Mission Accomplished.

8. The ONLY terrorists who scare me
are the ones infesting our government. From 9/11 on, I just knew this "terror" was home-grown at its root.

Cheney, et al, should be charged with 5000+ counts of aggravated homicide. (3000 on 9/11 and 2000+ of our children sent to Iraq to die.

Oh yeah....and the 100,000 or so innocent Iraqis who've been killed. Quite a list. If you believe in karma, how many lifetimes is it going to take Sneer to pay this all back? :evilfrown:

10. Not as afraid of terrorism
as I am about the fact that they're not even trying to protect us.

Who here didn't know that with the world today it was only a matter of time until it hit here? True, no one imagined something so spectacularly atrocious, but who really believed it wouldn't happen eventually? The very stupid, that's who. That's who's afraid. That's who they need to come out and vote.

Israel, the UK, the mideast, Spain, Japan... Why not here? :eyes:
