Are JD Hayworth and Richard Pombo vulnerable?
Apparently so according to analysts, http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/05/19/AR2006051901921_pf.html .

Oh how sweet it would be if in addition taking the house, congress can rid itself of these vermin. And once Pomba is gone, Timone can't be far behind.

1. I think Harry Mitchell has a chance against J Dud Hayworthless, if only
he would speak out against the war. He is in a very conservative district. I think he still needs to say it. "It was based on a lie, and we're not making things better with our presence there, so let's get the fuck out."

2. "...get the fuck out."
Um, he serves Mesa and AJ--

Sorry-kidding of course, but I burst out laughing at the incongruity!

I do agree Hayworth may be vulnerable owing to his Bushbotedness, which won't appeal to the Goldwater types in the area.

And many Mormons I know are pretty disgusted with the W as well.

5. I think Pombo can be beat
That district incorporates some of the SFBay Area. New housing has gone into that part of the district so the population has increased there. There's a contested primary June 6 so we'll see who emerges as the winner and how badly damaged they are after the primary. I know the environmentalist community is targeting this race. It's also the closest race to become involved in if you live in the SF Bay Area so many Dems in the region are planning to volunteer in this district.
