John Edwards blasts Bush, prepares to run in 2008 |
|
John Edwards says that the Bush administration is the worst presidency of all time, and far worse than even the Nixon administration ever was. Edwards said the Bushies are great at campaigning, but terrible at governing. he also says he would support censuring the president, like Russ Feingold wants. http://www.abcnews.go.com/GMA/print?id=1985018

1. Edwards is the real deal but sadly... |
|
... I don't think he has a chance of getting the nomination...

5. He polls after Hillary and Gore |
|
I would say he has a chance - let's see what platform he runs on and how his primary speech shapes up.

6. I would love to see Edwards do well... He's tougher than... |
|
... people give him credit for... He lost a child for Pete's sake, does anything make you tougher than that...? Once you've lived through that, you can really get through anything...

2. There's maybe only 20 or 30 people in the nation right now with any |

realistic chance of being president. Maybe 24 or 25 Democrats and maybe 15-16 Republicans. Something like that.
Edwards is on that Democratic list, and in the top tier, too.
A very strong case could be made for an Edwards White House in 2008.
An amateur observer's list of potential 2008 candidates, alphabetized, might include:
DEMOCRATS
1. Sen. Evan Bayh 2. Sen. Joe Biden 3. Sen. Barbara Boxer 4. Sen. Bill Bradley 5. General Wesley Clark 6. Sen. Hillary Clinton 7. Congressman Randy Crow 8. Congressman Lloyd Doggett 9. Sen. Dick Durbin 10. Sen. John Edwards 11. Sen. Russ Feingold 12. Vice President Al Gore 13. Sen. Mike Gravel 14. Sen. John Kerry 15. Congressman Dennis Kucinich 16. Sen. Mary Landrieu 17. Sen. Blanche Lincoln 18. Sen. Barrack Obama 19. Gov. Bill Richardson 20. Gov. Kathleen Sebelius 21. Gov. Brian Schweitzer 22. Rev. Al Sharpton 23. Gov. Tom Vilsack 24. Gov. Mark Warner
REPUBLICANS
1. Sen. George Allen 2. Gov. Haley Barbour 3. Michael Bloomberg 4. Sen. Sam Brownback 5. Gov. Jeb Bush 6. Sen. Bill Frist, THE CAT BUTCHER 7. Congressman Newt Gingrich 8. Mayor Rudy Giuliani 9. Sen. Chuck Hagel 10. Sen. John McCain 11. Gov. George Pataki 12. Gov. Bill Owen 13. Secretary-of-State Condoleeza Rice 14. Gov. Mitt Romney 15. Congressman Tom Tancredo
I may have left people out, some have said they won't run but could change their minds later, and of course dark horses can emerge as they sometimes do in U.S. history, but in broad strokes, one of these people is likely the next president of the United States.
Of this list of Democrats, I believe Edwards is a lot closer to the job than Vilsack, for example. You can tinker with this list and come up with maybe only 10 real contenders from both parties' list. Edwards makes that list, too.

3. Edwards would make a great prez, but unfortunately he doesn't seem to be |
|
up to speed on the electronic voting machines. I'm afraid there won't be a Dem prez until the party AS A WHOLE and in particular the condidates favored are aware of what has been happening to elections around the country.
His chances are just as good as Kerry's were and he would win by at least the margin that Kerry did, maybe more. Kerry won by a near landslide. My guess is that by the time 2008 rolls around Edwards would win by a real landslide.
But tell that to the elections officials who've had to install ES&S Ivotronic or Diebold touchscreens or what have you. My prediction is exactly what I predicted for kerry: The Dem will win by a large margin, but the machines will give it to whatever nonentiy runs against him on the other side. Also, the polls will indicate that Edwards is winning all day and into the night but in the morning, lo and behold, the Repub will have won by a substantial margin. Reasons the media give? Moral values, the immigration issue, terrorism, abortion, gay marriage, evolution being taught in ths schools, the price of name brand shoes in the upscale shops on Fifth Avenue, the lack of a proper police presence in Aruba to prevent the abduction and murder of blond white women.

Every thing is going to come down to those machines in the end. If noting is done they will select our nominee as well as our president in 08

7. I like anyone who blasts Bush like he & Hillary did, but |
|
I wish Edwards wasn't openly against impeachment like he is.
