Fence will actually stop anybody?
Molly Ivins used to crack jokes about Texas barbecues that featured Mexican fence climbing contests. Now I'm not laughing so much. In my opinion, this could be one of the biggest boondoggles our idiots in Congress have ever come up with.
I bounced the idea of a wall off of a few Mexican members of a soccer team I play on and the concensus was that the fence is nothing more than a source of mirth. To a man, every Mexican I asked said it wouldn't work. One told me they will climb over it, dig under it, or fly over it. They seemed intrigued by the idea. Don't underestimate the ingenuity of a desperate Mexican.
And to what end, this fence? So the National Guard can corral the intruders and send them back? One guy on my team was apprehended three times trying to cross and was returned each time. His fourth attempt was successful.
This is idiotic. I only hope someone wakes up to the cost of this foolishness before contracts are awarded. But I doubt that will happen.
I am heartily sick of the bozos who are wasting our tax dollars on this.

1. the fence will serve its real purpose very well |
|
That purpose being to funnel money to some Bush-connected company such as Halliburton.

3. You've got that right. |
|
It's all about funneling money, and conning people out of their votes.

and some people here are way too gulliable when it comes to those "hot button" issues - they should ask themselves why is it such a "hot button" in the first place.

It's an illusion, they they pacify Americans, while making huge profits, the only thing that changes is an increase in the national debt.
It's par for the course with this administration.

6. Don't worry about the money |
|
I believe if it weren't for spending it on border control we would have wasted it on veterans.

7. Personally, I don't believe the fence will be built |
|
The project will not be funded and the whole issue will be forgotten after the fall elections.
