than Lieberman, fercripessake. He's Zell Miller without the religion! He voted with the Republicans on everything!
This is a concerted effort to make the Democratic Party look like the Party of Corruption, and the media is complicit.
Just another reason why we need to keep the internet independent of governmental regulation!

Going over congressional scandals of the past. I guess there isn't any news happening in the world. No wars to report on, civil rights aren't being overturned, etc...
MSM is fucking pathetic.

Just turn the damned thing off. I haven't watched cable news for months, and I'm certainly not sorry. Maybe you could ask Sparkly to play the piano. ;-)

Only if I can pry her from her two other addictions ...... Ebay and DU.
Actually, since I work from home, the teevee is on as background noise. I can't stand sitcoms/soap operas/fake reality so I watch HGTV, History, Discovery, FoodTV, A&E and cable newz.
Ask me anything :)

Kake ... not cake .... but intended as fake .... ahhh, fake it!
I really do like International House Hunters. Having been to a number of the cities they visit, its really cool to see how differnt it is toi buy in each market ... and also to see what the prices are.
Designed to Sell .... not so much anymore. The plot never changes. :)
I prefer the shows that center on old houses or architecture - rezoned/walls could talk/restore America/extreme homes, that kind of thing. I also really appreciate that they so freely show non-traditional families and deal with them very simply as .... families. Bi-racial couples, gay couples, obviously ethnic couples, etc.

I remember the old House Hunters and can still hear the theme music. But I didn't know they went international!

Its amazing how similar people are the world over ... and yet still unique. The show they did from south america was really good. It could have been Dubuque with palm trees.
The one they did from Eastern Europe was kinda depressing. The young couple could only afford some very bleak and gray former government-owned high-rise hovel. The price range was in the $50 to $80K range, as I recall.

7. HGTV is great. That I could watch more often. |
|
Discovery sometimes has some very graphic health related shows on sometimes, doesn't it? Also, which channel has Dogs With Jobs? A friend of mine used to watch that religiously, but I can never remember which channel.

10. Discovery has a mix of schlock and good stuff. |
|
I don't know where 'dogs with jobs' was, but it sounds like it could be interesting. Is this like 'a day in the life of a working border collie' stuff?
I can sometimes watch the car shows on Discovery, but they get tiresome, too. Everybody's always on a fake deadline for some fake reason. The technical aspects interest me, but I could care less that Boyd Coddington promised some rich guy his hot rod in four days.
The medical shows are not good for me. I get sympathy pains waaaaaaay too easy. Did I ever tell you I have an inflamed lumbago of the third metatarsal? Its true. I do. And I saw someone on teevee with the **same damned thing**! :)

13. Dogs with Jobs might be on Animal Planet. |
|
And yes, it was about all kinds of working dogs: sled dogs, border collies, assistance dogs, etc.
Sometimes those medical shows are like freak shows. My youngest daughter (teenager) watched them for that very reason, I swear. She'd watch one, then come to me and say, "EEWWW! You wouldn't believe what I just saw on Discovery Health. Let me tell you about it!"
There was one about some people who got some kind of giant cysts or tumors, and there was another one about inviable fetuses found years after a pregnancy in some obscure or unexpected part of women's bodies.
EEWWW!
Sorry to hear about your metatarsal problem. Stay away from Discovery Health!
