What politician speaks the truth in the fewest words ?
About the war in Iraq?

About the huge deficits?

About health coverage?

About our troops in the war?

About spying and eavesdropping?

Personally, I think Dr. Dean does an excellent job with the fewest words. That is an art few politicians exhibit.

2. The old master was Ramsey Clark.
He could get it done in a phrase or two.

More recently, Paul Hackett was pretty good, and maybe Dick Durbin or Pat Leahy. Leahy can speak on his feet awfully well. Same for Durbin.

3. Your kidding right? I've yet to see a politician speak truth or honesty
they speak in half truths and honesty to a point. If you think any politician out there is honest and truthful, well I got some land down in florida sell real cheap too, pumps included.

4. You mean like putting it in a nutshell?
Most politicians can't put it in a barrel without a bottom. Dean is probably the best at not prefacing everything six different ways before answering a question.

You know what I really hate?

When a politician repeats the same question that was just asked.

Reporter: Senator, do you, in fact, believe the sky is blue?

Senator: Do I believe the sky is blue? Is the sky blue? A blue sky?

Jesus Christ! Answer the fucking question already!

spying and eavesdropping: two words - illegal and censure
huge deficits: his ratings by budget groups say it all

Plain and simple truth with no wait....

11. I don't think any of them do
I think Dems may offer up something Closer to the truth. I think Kucinich does the best job of appealing to lower middle class and poor people.

On the whole I think our system is loaded with politicians who are full of shit. Perhaps I am of the few that has held on to their skeptisism? I don't know.

14. Short and sweet
THE IRS IS BEING PICKED ON September 25, 1997

Madam Speaker, former IRS commissioner said, `Congressman Traficant for years has worked to turn the American people against the IRS.' He said, `It is unfair, and the IRS is not a two-headed monster.'
The IRS is being picked on. How about a pity party. Do I hear violins? Let us tell it like it is. If the IRS is not a two-headed monster, why are American citizens literally wearing bags over their heads afraid to death to tell the Government how they feel about the IRS? The truth is, the American people know the IRS, the Congress knows the IRS, and the IRS knows the IRS.
I want to say one last thing. I am going to advise IRS spokespeople to stop mentioning my name on national television. I yield back the balance of their abuses.

15.  A Prophet?
LET US START CARING ABOUT AMERICAN KIDS July 9, 1997

Mr. Speaker, Mexico's top narcotics organization has threatened to kidnap and murder American officials. The FBI said the Arellanno-Felix organization, in an effort to protect their drug shipments on our borders, will come in America and will kill.
Unbelievable here. America is overrun with heroin and cocaine, we have got kids dying in Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, and who cares, Congress? Who really cares?
And there is now a group of people trying to take the Traficant language out of the defense bill that authorizes, but not mandates, the use of the troops on our borders.
Are they nuts? Are they inhaling or what? Wake up, Congress. What has to happen? Will one of these narcotics organizations have to kidnap our drug czar?
America has no program, none, zero, and our borders are wide open.
Let us start caring for American kids.

13. Soundbites don't resolve complex issues; that is how we ended up with Bush
I want someone who is intelligent and thoughtful - who can speak clearly. I am not focused on soundbites - that is how Bush got elected.

Let Madison Ave do soundbites; let elected officials develop clear and thoughtful statements.
