CongressDems OUTRAGED over Jefferson after rolling over for Hayden?
Edited on Wed May-24-06 10:26 PM by omega minimo
and dropping FISA violations down the memory hole? :wtf:

Such dramatic performance art! Why are we supposed to buy it NOW?! The day AFTER committee Dems betray their duty to the people and the nation they represent. One Democrat voting for him, said Hayden "SPEAKS TRUTH TO POWER"!!?

When do the Democrats SPEAK TRUTH TO POWER?

Oh yeah, NoVEMber
.............:sarcasm: ....................................:hi:

Yeah, I know the "it's a done deal, why bother" contingent were "right" about Hayden-- but how do Democrats retain any credibility with those of us still bothering to pay attention? Not BLIND LOYALTY AND KNEEJERK BUMPERSTICKERS but credibility that they represent US?

Is it time to admit that they don't? Katrina (no outrage) Alito (no outrage) FISA (no outrage) Hayden (no outrage) CongressDem searched (OUTRAGEOUS!!!!!!!)

1. I find no satisfaction in being "right" on Hayden
The people in DC, with very few exceptions, could give a flip about the People. Many of them hold us in outright contempt, some like John Cornyn, refuse to even accept e mail form constituents.

4. That's fair ("no satisfaction in being 'right'")
Considering the subject and the prevailing "done deal" attitude, there is a little irony in your sigline:

Some people see things as they are and ask "Why?" I see things that never were and say "Why not?"

-Robert F.Kennedy

Some people see this nomination and say :wtf: Some see it as a done deal and say "why bother"?

2. The Dems are Losing ...
... their activist base.

There is an anti-incumbent mood arising in the nation.

Because the elitist Dems are STILL being cautious, are still risk averse, and are still pinning all their hopes on the radical Republicans self-destructing.

I can see it now, they will snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

Any Democratic U.S. Senator voting for Hayden shows they are more fond of the little power they have in Washington than commitment to defending the Constitution.

I really don't get it.

Sick and funny, like the times.

I wasn't on the 'throw out all DINO's" bandwagon before Tuesday.................. now it seems the only "strategeric" way to go.

5. That was my 1000
Sick and funny -- that was my 1000th post.

Yeah, I listen to Malloy and Hartmann and it certainly appears that the establishment Dems must need a real good scare to wake them up from their complacency.

So supporting actual, honest to god PROGRESSIVE candidates looks like the only way to go.
