Language as the new skin color
I found a web site owned by a St Ignatius High School in Cleveland, Ohio. I know nothng about St. Ignatius High School in Cleveland, Ohio, but they have an excellent page on language useage.

http://www2.ignatius.edu/faculty/turner/languages.htm

It is a series of lists and charts that show English as but one language among many that are in widespread use around the world. While this doesn't address non-English languge use in the US, per se, it points up the world's polyglot nature.

And therein lies the kernal of wisdom. English may not be *the* lingua franca of the future.

America's 'stupids' (citizens who see only what they wish to see and reject whatever they don't believe in) fear change. And it seems clear that the widespread use of English is changing.

Language is the next 'skin color' - the target of fear morphed to hatred. In may ways, we're there already.
