The robotic fly on the artificial plant has a hidden microphone...
"Sit down Tony....good to see ya' again."

"Thanks Dubya. Welcome to the club." (nervously laughs)

"I think we finally got our man over in Baghdad...He's doing a heck of a job"

"Do you think we'll be able to pull our troops out now?"

"Well, it depends. If Waliki continues to maintain control and he's able to execute Saddam without a rebellion, then we should be able to withdraw a large number of our troops."

"Not soon enough...your polls are almost as low as mine."

"Well Waliki tells me he may be able to execute Saddam in August or September and that will give us time to pull out 25-30,000 troops before the election and that should help our numbers a little bit..."

"By the way, how's Laura doing?"

"She's been a little mad the last few days...those gossip magazines have been talking about her again."

"We know about those."

"It sure is good to talk to you again."

"Did you know there was a fly on your plant? It's moving rather slowly...."

1. You have the answer.
The US will start drawing down when Saddam is executed.

Bush got real angry that Saddam put a hit out on his Daddy. He has dethroned Saddam, killed his sons, killed countless innocent citizens of Saddam's country and bombed Saddam's country into the stone age.

Cross Bush and payback is hell.

Did Saddam really put out a hit on GHWB? Do we only know that because W told us or is there some kind of non-partisian confirmation?

I will say again what I said before the Shock and Awe of this catastrophe: If you get rid of Saddam, he will be replaced by another tyrant. Same game, different name. It will be interesting to see who leads Iraq 5 or 10 years after this mess is over.
I still stand by that prediction. I do not think all this killing and maiming and property damage will accomplish anything in the long run except make more of the world hate America and Americans.

2. Bush will stop the killing of American troops when Saddam is executed...
Any number of lives for the King. He is such a despicable person, in my humble opinion.

3. As I recall (sorry no links) the "hit on papa Bush" information was shady.
The suspects were held incommunicado for quite a while (implication being they were tortured into 'confessing').

The person who had them in custody was the former Ambasador to US from Kuwait. It was his daughter who dressed up in 'traditional' garb and testified in front of Congress that she had witnessed Iraqi soldiers 'throwing babies out of incubators' as US government was building up support for the first war against Iraq. Only problem was she hadn't even been there during the time in question (she was living here in the US at the time). Combine this with the fake "satellite photos" that showed Iraqi tanks massed on the Saudi border (which commercially-availible sattelite photos showed to be untrue).

What I get out of all this is that just as Bush II operated a campaign of illusions and distortions to mold public opinion for a war, so did Bush I. And further, this former Kuwaiti ambassador was willing to be a subcontractor in this effort. That kind of makes you wonder when he is the one who produces the 'confessions' of the putative assassins.

You'd want to got the documentation on these recollections before using them in an argument, of course, because my memory is far from perfect - Kenny who?
