It might have made sense three years ago after Natalie Maines unloaded on Bush on the eve of the Iraq war and had to deal with overwhelming condemnation and threats of retaliation. But, the Chicks skepticism about the war has since been vindicated.

4. No matter the tone, they made the cover of Time.

I would say its the Chicks doing the manipulating here, not Time. What an amazing publicity coup, getting the cover of Time and a major article about whether their political beliefs will help or hurt their new album sales.

They'll be laughing all the way to the bank.

And Time listens to Howard Stern and won't admit it.
