4. I really don't see her as a Republican.
But I do understand why she had him on-as a favor for a friend.

She was one of Maria Shriver's bridesmaids and they've been friends for years.

7. I was going to say the MRS. BUTTERWORTH Party but when...
I come to think of it I don't really care.
Daytime TV really is a wasteland. It'd be better if we went back to the Million Dollar Movie & such instead of the syndicated dreck.

9. I don't watch TV, so ordinarily I wouldn't comment on this Burning Issue.
Edited on Sat May-27-06 12:31 PM by pnorman
However, having watched the following video clip a couple of dozen times, I have trouble in picturing her as a Republican (as that terms has come to mean in recent times). Take a look at this:
http://movies.crooksandliars.com/Oprah-Winfrey-saved-dog.wmv

There was another video clip of her at the NOLA Superdome that illustrates the same point, but I can't locate it at the moment.

No matter what anyone says, she did participate in the overthrow of California, And no matter who ever it appeared that she endorsed for prez last time, as far as I know she did not come out and say it. Must not offend the advertisers, you know.

14. The OPRAH Party.
She did everything she could to get Ah-nuld elected in California, but then went to NOLA after Katrina and did a show very critical of the way the Bush government handled that. She's all over the place politically, so I have to feel that, as arguably, the most powerful (and certainly wealthiest) Black woman in the U.S., she feels she can support or criticize anything or anyone she damned well pleases.

Just an opinion, but what it seems to me.

21. Big-time Democrat
All of her political donations are to Democratic candidates. But she does try to keep her show basically non-political. Which actually works, I think, because when she does highlight issues like Katrina & domestic violence, it's more likely to be taken seriously by people regardless of their political party.

27. She is a true-blue DEMOCRAT... Who are the 4 losers who...
....called her a ReTHUGLY?

Step up and tell us who you are? C'mon, the stage is yours. Tell us why you thought Oprah the DEMOCRAT was a Ugly Thugly?

Betcha none of those who falsely claimed she was a THUGLY will openly admit it.

And if you do have the nerve to admit that you selected that... you are WRONG!

Oprah is a proud DEMOCRAT!

30. At best, she's DLC...though she COULD be 'closet' Repug.
She is NOT true Dem in ANY way. "Controversy"...except for Dr. Phil, is NOT her style.

Mz. O like's "The Man's" approval far too much. She's upbeat, inspiratonal, and exceptionally "successful." Her idea of an ideal candidate, I'm guessing...would be (solid-DLC) Obama.

31. What is this fascination with Oprah?
Why does anyone care what party affiliation celebrities have? I don't get all this celebrity hero worship Americans, both left and right, seem to have. I don't give a rats ass what any of them do. I don't much care what they say. I don't care about their lives. I don't care who they are screwing. I simply don't care at all about them, and I often wonder why anyone does.

I have more interest in what the bagger at the local supermarket, or the window washer hanging precariously from the side of our office building feels about issues than these celebrity people.

32. Don't Forget
She also had Michael Moore on her show just before the opening of Fahernheit 911. He begged her to run for Prez, told her she'd win big time and could use her own money for the campaign so she never belonged to anyone. She merely laughed, but he was serious!
