Failed Foreign Policy
Is our entire foreign policy a demonstrated failure or what?
While we focus on whichever is the latest scandal from Iraq we get stories like this from Afghanistan, the administrations shining example of democracy building.

Its time we completely rethink our entire global strategy. Its leading us nowhere but to more of the same.

2. body counts - don't do body counts - back to body counts
Heavy emphasis on body counts rather than tangible accomplishments. By their own criteria they are failing.

3. What are tangible accomplishment ...
Rule of thumb says that if you spend all your spare time walking around in peoples back yards thumping your chest many wont like it, and eventually you will run across someone who really doesn't like it. From the playgrounds of our youth we learned that the quickest route to earning respect was to find the biggest ugliest bully in the park and kick him in the nuts. That bully would be us. Maybe its time our leaders get sent back to that playground to learn a lesson they obviously somehow missed.

4. Don't ask me to define it but I believe they said they would...
...spread democracy, prevent nuclear proliferation, enable a peaceful international order. These are their criteria, not mine.

Now that those purported objectives have all failed, they report the number of killed as a result of rather de minimus (cost ineffective) military attacks that really have no larger significance other than to make us more hated abroad. There were quite a few pronouncements that their policies would not degenerate to this. In truth this is the only metric they have left.

The stated goals were propaganda, the substitution of a new fraud for an old one, the war on the terror, weapons of mass destruction, bring freedom to Iraq, etc.
