Administrative Elections in Italy - results looking good
Administrative elections were held yesterday and today. Polls closed at 3pm. 4 major cities were involved: Rome, Naples, Milan and Torino. According to the projections, in Rome, Naples and Torino the incumbent mayors, all from the center left coalition, have very comfortable leads. It's neck and neck in Milan, which is good news as it might lead to an unexpected run-off in a city that is a center-right stronghold. The center left also picked up a couple of smaller cities that were governed by the center right.

Not so great news from Sicily where they are also electing the president of the region. Cuffaro, the incumbent who is also currently on trial for mafia related charges is winning against Rita Borsellino, sister of Paolo Borselino, an anti-mafia magistrate who was assassinated by the mafia in 1992.

All in all, things look good.

I'll keep you posted...

Steph
