Who should be the next Atty-General or FBI Director ??
If the Democrats win, shouldn't we need a strong person to crack down on the previous graft and bribery left behind? We cannot simply forget the crimes just because the Parties switch control. We need someone that will investigate to the end and prosecute. Perhaps someone like Patrick Fitzgerald? Any thoughts on this matter?

1. Fitz could work,
Hell I kind of see him as a modern day Elliot Ness.

As for FBI Director. I think we'd need to promote from within the FBI. Same for director of Nasa, and Fema. You want someone in charge of these agencies with lots of prior experience in these fields.

I can tell you from practical experience that it help to have a Supervisor that knows what your job is and how it's supposed to be done. For example, I currently work at a theme park, and let me tell you... If you work at a ride, and you get a new supervisor who's spent the last couple years working in ticket sales, or food services, there not going to know jack shit about how to lead a crew of ride operators. The skill set is completely different. You end up getting a lot of fresh ideas that anyone who's spent a day working as a ride attendant could tell you won't work. Suggestions that don't make any sense. And mandatory procedure adjustments that make your job more difficult and less efficient.

That being said, I think we should put Tommy Chong in charge of the DEA.

2. Good question. We've got some great people to fill the AG post.
Fitzgerald would work just fine. John Edwards. Barbara Boxer. And many qulaified others, too.

I agree that it should be someone able and willing to do a little looking into the transgressions of the Bush administration.

3. If Gore is the next President, he may pick Dennis Archer
Detroit Mayor in the 90s, he was on the Michigan Supreme Court before that. He'd be the first African-American as AG. He'd be a good USSC pick, too.

Fitzgerald would be a good choice because he's not partisan, but his current investigation could make him a poor choice for AG just because of the timing, not because of his qualifications.

Jennifer Granholm could be a good AG pick, too. She did a good job as Michigan's before running for governor. We need her here for the next few years, but in 2009, she could be a good pick.

I have no problem with a dem president picking a highly ethical republican for the position, however, because it would be a good move toward putting political divisions behind the country and moving ahead. Especially if that nominee has a backround as an effective prosecutor and/or a reformer.
