WHERE HAVE ALL THE PATRIOTS GONE? |
|
Gone are the days of the great patriots in our government. Gone are the days when our elected officials can look themselves in the mirror and be proud. Gone are the days when we were taught as children that pride was the all important trait that we inherited from our parents and to never relinquish our pride in our selves and in our country.
Then gradually our greatest gift was destroyed slowly, inch by inch, by our government.
They passed laws making bribes to elected officials legal and calling it contributions. To add insult to injury they publish and brag about how many millions of dollars they took in bribes, (contributions).
Well, this is a great country and it has grown to be the greatest and most prosperous nation in the world but we all know that what goes up must come down and I believe the down turn is beginning.

"homos" in the military, thank you Bill Clinton . . . They'd rather have a straight kid from Oklahoma who couldn't hit the ground if he fell at it, than a "queer" who could bring down a quail from 50 yards with a slingshot blindfolded . . .

3. I'm sorry, but I was never taught to have pride in ourselves & country. |
|
I have never believed that we are the 'greatest' nation on earth. We might have done some extraordinary things in our 230 year history, but taking a world view, so have lots of other civilizations and countries across time.
I have supported this country when it has done right and will continue to do so. I did not support the country during Viet Nam nor our little 'wars' in Central America nor in our unbending support of Israel.
I was taught to do right...not to lie, steal, kill, or take advantage of people or situations. I've always paid my taxes honestly and without complaint. I've felt honored to have seen and heard great statesmen (unknown today) and watched as real people led the campaigns for human rights. I believe in active participation in the political process. I have enormous faith in the Bill of Rights and our Constitution.
I abhor the people's abandonment of their rights and principles. I find most average Americans to be in total ignorance of history, culture, and the world.
Our experiment with democracy was once the shining beacon, but it has sputtered and is almost dead. It matters not how 'rich' we are when we have been using our wealth for evil. As Howard Zinn said, “There is no flag large enough to cover the shame of killing innocent people.”

We've got a nation to take back from the most dangerous man on Earth.
