"How Do You Ask a Soldier to be the last person to die for a lie"
The events of the past weeks have made me think of John Kerry's quote about the Vietnam War. How true it is today. Who will be the last person to give their life for Bush's lies?

Who will be the last soldier to die in Iraq? it will b the son or daughter of the poor, the immigrant or some other nameless, faceless kid who was sent to Iraq to fight and die for Bush, the GOP and money. it won't be the Bush twins, or the sons of Halliburton executives.

Every night on the news, they talk about the soldiers who are giving their lives "to protect our freedom". That's bullshit. They are not protecting our freedom by being in Iraq. They are making us less safe and more hated. They are dying in vain.

George W. Bush, et al, have so much blood on their hands. How do they sleep at night??

10. The domino effect was also a lie
I guess it can be argued that it is also a policy decision, but that does NOT mean it was true

In fact history has shown that the domino effect was bull. The soviet union fell, and viet nam today is becoming quite capitalist

but in my view the war DID NOT BEGIN until Johnson. The advisors sent by Kennedy already determined that our involvement would NOT be successful, and Kennedy was NOT going to pursue it

2. you might as well get used to it
until we start replacing people in our party with progressives, we will remain in Iraq for an indefinite time, and many more deaths WILL occur

6. Sorry, I read that somewhere today and that's the quote they used
Should have checked it. Either way, the paraphrase works too.

8. Works even better, actually ... I was just being silly.
After all, Vietnam was a war that was started as a mistake.

Iraq was a war started as a lie.

7. I think the change was to account for women now fighting
unlike when Kerry said it.

11. I was thinking the same things early this morning.
How do you ask a soldier to be the last to die for a war that should never have been?

All of the dead have died in vain which is very, very sad and inhumane.

We need to stop this as soon as possible.

The endless discussions and votes in Congress are useless.

It would be more productive to begin showing the returning coffins on every channel every day until the voice of the people becomes so loud that we end the war.

War protests and demonstrations need to be organized every weekend until the will of the people wins for America.

The men and women in the House and Senate playing their games in air conditioning in fine clothes with full bellies, manicured and coiffed, are just empty suits, tinkling brass, signifying nothing.

13. Sadly, they not only have died in vain, they died for "gain"
for Bush and his cohorts and profound loss for everyone else.

12. George W. Bush is avoiding that . . . he's not going to be President for
when the last man dies for his mistake . . . wait, it's not a mistake, everything's going as planned . . . and, according to the Republicans, there is never going to be a "last man to die" in Iraq . . . because we're never going to leave . . .

14. I found a George W Bush quote from the same day
taken from his journal:

"Damn, that is some fine cocaine. You think I should drive myself home?"
