anywhere about letting Rove off the hook...If he hasn't, it seems very fishy...anyone know if he made a statement?

Not in his job description. It is not an issue one way or the other.

2. He's never made a statement (as such) that Rove was

on the hook. He had a press conference discussing an indictment and associated matters, not discussing possible targets.

It may seem fishy, but it's exactly what we'd predict given the usual default assumption: he reports on the few actions taken, not on the many actions not taken.

Edited to say: He's never made a *public* statement about Rove's being off the hook.
