We get tough, we win. Snooze and we lose. |
|
When you're going up against the worst administration in history, it's as simple as that.
You would think that with the elections being only a few months away that our party would be attacking Republicans like junkyard dogs. Here we're going up against the worst administration in history and we're once again playing like Mr Nice Guy. With only a few exceptions, our people are way too passive.
We should be all over them like flies on shit. Every single one of our politicians should be pounding them with vicious rhetoric every second of every day until Voting Day. Instead, it's Bush and Cheney doing the pounding. They're up to their old tricks of stirring up their ignorant conservative base by attacking so-called liberal mouthpieces like the New York Times...and you know damn well that our people will just sit back and watch..as always...hoping that Republicans self destruct on their own.
Enough sitting back. Enough of the nice-guy routine. It's time for our Democratic spokespeople to get tough and go on the full offensive against the worst, most corrupt, party in history. Instead of letting those god awful repukes put us on the defensive like they're going to do again and again with their anti-terrorism scare tactics, we need to slam those bastards with our own tough rhetoric on every issue under the sun including lying, corruption, cheating. We need to replace words like "mislead" with "lied". We need to go on the attack instead of on the defense. We simply need to get tough for once in our pathetic Mr Nice Guy lifetime.
We're the ones who should be doing the pounding, not them.

I am amazed you can muster the optimism to scribe this pep talk. I couldn't. Why?
In eight years, shit has been done regarding blatant assaults on voters rights, from Ohio to choicepoint to evoting.
Shit has bee done to reign in lying big media which keeps fucking us and provides cover for an Adminsitation that has taken cronyism to a new level, rewrites laws, bungles everything, illegally snoops on citzens while saddling us with record debt.
Meanwhile, except for a few (very few) shining stars, roll over Dem reps have done shit regarding all this. There is no viable third party.
Rabid corporatists have made enough money and deals these past eight years to mount a staggering offensive in 2012 and beyond.
And now the U.S. has lost any morale authority, countries like China will pollute and violate human rights as never before.
We are super fucked. The poor, the elderly, the children, the infirmed, indigenous peoples, the whales, the icebergs... the whole earth.

We are super f*cked.
But, as the OP properly incites... we need to go once more into the breach before it's too late. Better to die on our feet than to live on our knees!

to report it.
Did he really get pounded?
edit: sorry for the smartass answer. i didn't mean to detract from your message, because we really really DO need to fight. Even if our efforts can't be multiplied with media coverage, we can still reach one person at a time.
