GOD bless America and GOD bless George Bush!!!
I wake up this morning and I turn on the TV.
I change the channel to C-Span to see if Washington Journal is still on.
There is some woman on who has written a new book about women in the military.
I catch the last ten seconds of some caller who is wrapping up whatever it was he was talking about.

"Thank you for taking my call and GOD BLESS AMERICA AND GOD BLESS GEORGE BUSH"

:puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke:

I'm awake roughly 4 minutes and this is the first thing I hear on this beautiful morning.
Now, I want to punch someone in the face.
I am sure that he's someones Dad, and that he has people who love him, and I am sure he's a good honest 'mericun.
And I want to pound his ass into the pavement.

Hate.

I don't think I ever hated any one group of people before this administration seized power and split the country in half.

I'm ready to fight, first thing this morning.
And I feel terrible about it.
I fear it's going to come to that.

If a Democrat wins in 2008 and is elected President, the first time these right-wing assholes complains about the job the President is doing without any justification, I am going to freak out.

Mark my words...
After two terms of not being able to criticize anything Bush has done, they will do to the next Democratic administration, exactly what they did to President Clinton.
I heard Helen Thomas say recently that President Clinton did not see a moment in his two terms where "he wasn't under some type of investigation".
Think about that...
Every second of his successful two terms, these pukes were dogging him trying to find something, anything to pin on him.
They hounded him from the moment he won the nomination of his party.
They went on radio and said his thirteen year old daughter "had a face like a dog"

They will do that again (assuming that they don't steal the next election as well).
I don't think that I can take that after the free pass they have given this stupid murder monkey.
I fear that by 2010, we may be fighting a civil war of our own.

I don't know who that old guy was that thinks George Bush needs to be blessed by God, but I hate him.
And I don't want to feel that way.

What have they done to us?

2. She was a member of the first class of women in the Naval Academy
or Canoe U as it was affectionately know in the ranks. Her husband was a four striper (a Navy Captain, which is like everyone else's Colonel) and Academy alum, two of her three kids are presently Academy Midshipmen, one is soon to be Academy, and all the males in both families back through the grand fathers were USNA alum too.

11. Not since she left the Navy after ten years.
She is a trained Civil Engineer and has a business in Annapolis now. She is on the trail for her book.

But the family situation is not like these people are leaching off of your dime. They are talented people that could certainly be applying their skills elsewhere and, might I add, making a hell of a lot more money. No one gets rich serving (key word, that, SERVING) in the military. But read this and perhaps you will figure out a few things.

NOT to the author??? what the HELL does her family history have to do with the OP?

and however you want to look at it, people in the military, or in the government, are PAID FOR BY OUR TAX DOLLARS. you do understand that part, right?

3. Will she blame Clinton when she loses her job/pension/whatever?
If a Dem wins, they have to say Bush is to blame. For everything. Even Repubs have spoken that if a Dem wins, there will be a disaster. :dunce:

Doomed either way?

5. I hear that shit all the time on AM radio as well
AM radio used to be good for checking the weather and traffic, now all you get is 24/7 garbage from the Bush cult. And it's like that everywhere I travel.

6. this reminds me....
of a poster around here who uses this phrase "Republicans will STFU". they have a whole thread dedicated to it, but i don't know where it is....don't even remember the DU'er who started it, but it's hilarious, and just like you are saying, when we do have a Dem President again, and Republicans start bitching about ANYTHING, it's time for them to STFU.

if that DU'er is around, can you link to that thread? i'd like to read it again :hi:

7. Sounds like something that a supporter of Buzz Windrip (president in
Sinclair Lewis's "it Can't Happen Here")would say.

I am infuriated when I see bumper stickers supporting Bush and Santorum. They call these slime Christians.

9. I turned it off when the military...
Navy, I think, woman was to come on. I was mad enough at that point. One woman called in touting * as the greatest president since cream cheese and my husband said, "People like that should not be allowed to own a phone". I'm afraid some morning that I'll take out my anger by throwing something at the TV....then I'd REALLY be mad, but............How could anyone say anything positive about * after all the damage he has done and continues to do---especially after that "press briefing" in Chicago yesterday. Rambling idiot---insulter of the press. The problem is his supporters believe he's great and worst of all they vote and their votes are counted!

12. Worse yet, I watched the CSPAN inauguration coverage in 2005
and as the motorcade made its way up Pennsylvania Avenue, it was preceded by loudspeakers urging the crowd to "show their appreciation for President and Mrs. Bush and Vice-President and Mrs. Cheney." It ended with, and I swear, I'm not making this up, "God bless America and God bless President Bush." :puke:

Why didn't they just have a lit-up applause sign tacked on the front of the presidential limo?

I wonder how many other presidents' motorcades had to be preceded by loudspeakers telling the crowd to cheer.

Certainly after the 2001 inauguration, I heard Daniel Schor say that he had attended every inauguration since Eisenhower, that he had NEVER seen such negative reactions from the crowd, and that it disturbed him that none of the edited news coverage seemed to mention that.

15. These people only see what they want to see and
Edited on Sat Jul-08-06 11:38 AM by LibDemAlways
only believe what they want to believe. Back in the 80's my wingnut aunt who lives in New Jersey was going on and on about what a great family man and good Christian Reagan was. I calmly reminded her that he was divorced from his first wife, hadn't yet met his 5 year old grandson, had married an already pregnant Nancy, was estranged from his daughter, and studiously avoided attending church - all common knowledge at the time. Just to tweak her I added that he had signed a liberalized abortion law while Calif. governor.

Rather than address anything I said, the next words out of her mouth were "Oh, yeah, well Ted Kennedy's a killer."

The reality of a rightwinger has nothing to do with actual reality. Of course they will hound the next Dem. Pres - if we are ever able to overcome Diebold. As long as it's close, they'll just steal it.

17. my friends flipped a bird to GWB as his helicopter was flying over their
house.

(i hope this action my friends took will somehow make you feel better)

Yes, we have become antagonists. We are ready to sockit to the television and to whoever (whomever) makes inflammatory remarks (Bless GWB has become an inflammatory remark lately for many of us...something i turn around into GOD BLESS ME and take my animosity from me for God can dispose of it much better than I can...i say, deal with me God, and with my animosity, I can't help feeling the way i do and I don't want to allow myself to wish ill on anyone-- i don't want it falling back on me. o, please God, deal with me.) that is what i say.

You can only do that to yourself. Quit blaming others. Our party needs to start taking responsibility for ourselves and our feelings.
