2. I absolutely agree
that Wally World is corporate evil incarnate.

I also happen to think that most of the folks who work there would rather not. I've known several. They would prefer to work elsewhere where they are treated better.

As bad as Wally World is the real problem lies in our willingness as a culture to permit such corporate exploitation in the name of profit.

I happen to live in red state hell - in an employment at will state. Believe me, there are lots of other companies who exploit their workers just as bad or worse than Wally World.

Gandhi was right when he named one of the great evils as being capitalism without a conscience. That is exactly what we have embraced in the good old US of A.

3. FYI The 17th, 18th, 19th, 20th, and 21st richest people in the world
are the demon spawn of Sam Walton. Each one takes over a billion $$$ a year out of the worlds largest corporation.

4. What a bunch of BS
We Don't live in a communist country. There is no way old Paul after losing part of his hand could of been forced to return back to work. Only thing Paul would have to done was to tell Walmart to fuck off and find himself another job. Same with these other crybabies, yes it sucks to work for Walmart, you weren't forced to work for them and you can't be forced to stay with them.

5. Wal-mart doesn't hire people that are easy to employ elsewhere
Edited on Sat Jul-08-06 01:40 PM by Omaha Steve

Except managers. They don't hire cream of the crop. They have broken child labor laws. They have discriminated against women. They have several charges going through the courts. When I hurt my back, I couldn't find work as a trucker anymore because I couldn't load or unload. How well could Paul cut meat? Isn't that why they made him a lowly greeter? Try watching the PBS Is Wal-mart Good for America special. It runs every so often.

Netflix has it for rent: http://www.netflix.com/MovieDisplay?movieid=70037347&trkid=189530&strkid=1789684396_6_0

8. Work where? They've run everyone else out of business. They go
into a community and sell at below cost for three years (the lenght a small business can survive.)

Then they boost the prices and start rolling in the dough.

It is an economic method that is taught in universities now. I hope ol' Sam's enjoying his money. :sarcasm:
