All But Decided: McCain/Bush '08 Republican Ticket
If you've read my predictions here over the past year or so, then the following may seem like gloating. In short, it's nice to be right. It's even nicer, though, when people who are more plugged in than I repeat my predictions.

Here's the latest:

<snip>

Bush is not a second-fiddle kind of guy, which is why he never considered a run for U.S. Senate. But Bush might play that role to become president. And make no mistake: That is his eventual goal.

On paper, he is amply qualified, at least from a Republican perspective.

Bush has been a zealous tax-cutter. Florida's economy is booming. He has overhauled the education system. He ably got the state through an onslaught of hurricanes. His wife is from Mexico, and he speaks fluent Spanish. Religious conservatives love him.

If he had any other last name, Bush would be a front-runner for the 2008 Republican nomination. But given his brother's lagging popularity, the name that got Jeb where he is could stop him from going any further.

Diluting that name with McCain's makes it more palatable for a Bush-weary nation. It gives Jeb a chance to get people to look beyond the name.

4. I'm hoping that after we retake the House and/or Senate the following
investigations will be enough to ensure the entire family never finds itself in a position to slither its way into any place in our government again.

14. I Share Your Hope But...
Given the way Mr. Thomas wrote his piece, a McCain/Bush ticket would remain possible unless the little chimp were removed from office by the Congress.

Keep your fingers crossed!

15. I Can't Disagree But Stand By My Prediction
If all of this tacit hatred of McCain turns into a conservative implosion two years from now, it should be a show we all enjoy!

8. Given the ambition of that family, if that came to pass
I don't think McCain's life would be worth a plugged nickel.

9. Americans do not want any more BUSH's --- PERIOD.
Even ReTHUGS are bushed with Bush's..

Old man McCain can pick anyone he wants.. but if he even wants to have a chance against who we decide to put up ...then old man McCain won't put a "Bush" on his ticket.

And so what if he does Corbett.

Old as dirt McCain won't win --- And you can take that to the bank!

16. Let's See What Happens
The other half of the prediction I've posted here at DU several times over the past year is that the Democratic ticket will be John Kerry for prez and Hillary Rodham Clinton for veep. If I'm right, then the Republican ticket won't have a chance.

It should be amusing either way!

How about a good old fashioned "Democratic" post? The only one who gives a $hit about the Rethugs..

...is this guy here:

17. I'll Tell You Why
All of the Swifting, election fraud and voter disenfranchisement of 2004 was engineered by KKKarl. The composition of the Republican ticket will have a lot to do with how much power KKKarl is given to oversee operations. That will be a crucial factor for the Democratic ticket to take into consideration because every state which KKKarl can rig turns into the necessity of broadening the Democratic lead by another 10% going into November of 2008.

Loved the pic, by the way!

13. They'll never leave Jeb off the ticket
That would be a product of fear. The GOP brass capitalizes on fear, they don't succumb to it. Florida is much too important to exclude Jeb. If they stick Jeb as VP, that means Florida is all but locked up. No way a national party can forfeit an electoral opportunity like that.

Look at the big picture. The aspect of Bush being a poisoned name in '08 is something the overreactive columnists and broadcasters will succumb to. It's not reality. Not when the people of Florida have no trouble separating the two. GW has something like a 32% approval rating in Florida while Jeb is at 58%.

Almost every astute handicapper I know in Las Vegas is a Republican. Likewise, that party ruthlessly picks the best team and lines them up, saying top this. Rove isn't going to allow a Dan Quayle-type mistake. We can either wise up and start nominating our best duo, or keep pretending a northern elitist senator is most electable.

Warner/Richardson. Two popular govs and in vital states.

18. All Good Till The End

Richardon is a DINO.

I'd have a really hard time bringing myself to vote for him, even in the #2 slot. Kerry won New Mexico in 2004 and Richardson did nothing to stop the fraud.
