4. You kidding? Lieberman loosing and being attacked is Rove's choice.
One reason for going to war was to filter out Israeli hawks from the Dem party and make them part of the 30 Rovian empire. Of course.. the young Bush boys will have to grow up really fast cause Rove is running out of Bushes.

6. Is this how democratic party unity works?
....Any proof that Joe Lieberman sold out the democratic party? What the heck is wrong with everyone? We are playing right into the Rat Party's hands on this one( Rat party is from rat fuckers during both of the Nixon campaigns).

Even this poll serves to divide only to divide us further. Wake up everyone! Can't you see what is happening?

7. Lieberman doesn't speak for the average Dem
at every possible opportunity but sides with the rightwingos. That's "proof" enough for me, thanks.

He needs to retire from his position as a Dem.

11. This was meant as comic reliet. It pokes fun at BOTH sides.
Lighten up, it was mainly a joke.

As to Lieberman and the party, he DID "sell it out" when he announced that he will try to run as an independent in the fall if he loses the Democratic primary. You can't be a Democrat and then say "sorry, the primary didn't count."

23. Lieberman seems to think so.
If anyone is dividing the party, it's Lieberman. Who's going to run as an Independent if he loses the August 8th primary? Does that sound like party unity to you?

8. I picked number 3...
I also wrote Senator Boxer and told her that I took a dim view of the support she and the Democratic party were giving Lieberman. I told her that if Lieberman wants to act as a Republican he should change parties and that the Democrats should facilitate this by kicking his butt out of the party.

What she will do, I have no way of knowing, but I am so tired of listening to Lieberman that I could pop like a crayfish thrown into a hot frying pan.

16. You're right....
Republicans don't like the minimum wage. I think they prefer indentured servitude. ;)

However if we don't want Lieberman, and I know I don't, then we have to foist him off on someone, and no one deserves him more than they do.

Never liked him, never will.

Still think we, I mean those like you, are wasting way to much time worrying about him.

Democrats have a message and can regain control of the House and maybe the Senate.

Still instead of focusing on messages, actions, and motivating. You spend all day worrying about this idiot race.

Sadd.

18. It's worth noting that Karl Rove will be hoping for a Lamont victory.
Edited on Mon Jul-10-06 10:48 AM by Donald Ian Rankin
Lieberman is considerably more likely to win the state than Lamont is, especially given the possibility that Lieberman would split the vote if Lamont wins; and the difference in policies between the two men is far, far less than the difference between either of them and the Republican. As far as Karl Rove is concerned, Lamont as Democratic candidate would be greatly preferable. That doesn't necessarily mean it would be a bad thing, hut it should be born in mind.

Just curious.

You must enjoy a repuke majority.

I want a REAL democrat.

And stop with the OLD statistics. They're old, dated and the "man" has moved on - to hug the repukes and at the same time SCOLD DEMOCRATS who criticize the repukes, in case you haven't noticed!

He is nowhere close to what he once was.

50. lieberman is a defacto rethug -- any democrat would be better, and even
a real republican will be better, since a real republican can't go on TV to "speak" for democrats. I don't want Lieberman speaking as a democrat and give cover to Bush's idiotic policies. If someone is going to be touting Bush's policies, let it be a republican.

34. Better enough that you'll help him beat Lamont in the fall
as a right-wing independent even though that would HURT Democrats nationally?

You've still not denounced Lieberman for refusing to accept a primary defeat.

You're obligated to do that if you're still going to present yourself as Mr. Party Loyalty Guy.

42. Lamont has promised he'll back Lieberman if Lieberman scrapes through
Lieberman has broken with the party by announcing he won't accept that a defeat in the primary means he's obligated to get out of the race. It's a simple thing, Benchley. You are NOT a Democrat if you won't tell Lieberman to do the right thing and get out if he loses the primary.

Obviously, Lamont has to win the thing, but you have to admit that Lieberman wouldn't even be talking about a pro-war anti-Democrat independent candidacy if that weren't a real possibility.

You've gone on for months and months and months with the "hate Democrats" smear. You've set yourself up as the Dem of Dems.
And you won't even agree to support the winner of the Democratic senate primary. The game is up for you, Benchers. Your wing of the party has lost.

Will you support the DEMOCRAT who wins the primary? Hmmmm? After all, you've been critical of Democrats who don't support their own party. So why don't you pledge now that you'll support Lamont if he wins the Democratic nomination? That's not too much of a stretch, is it?
